— Kenneth J.
David Jr., 63, of County Route 4, passed away Sunday morning,
Dec. 18,
at his home under the care of his family and Hospice of
Jefferson County.
Calling hours will be held 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 22, at Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., Clayton. The funeral service will be held
11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 23, at the funeral home with Rev. Alson Taylor, of River Community Church, officiating with burial following in St. Lawrence Cemetery, town of Cape Vincent.
Born May 30, 1948, in Watertown, son of Kenneth J. and Evelyn Montondo David, Sr.,
he graduated from Cape Vincent High School in 1966 and from NYS Dept. of Corrections school in Albany.
Kenny started his career as a corrections officer at Cape Vincent Correction Facility. After being promoted to
sergeant, he worked in Ulster State Corrections Facility. He retired after twenty-one years.
He was a former member of the Watertown Elks Lodge #496.
Mr. David enjoyed bowling at Aubrey's Bowling Center, Clayton, for many years, and was a member of the 700 Club.
He was an avid hunter, loved auctions, and was well-known for his pumpkin patch.
Surviving are his loving long-time significant other of thirty-five years, Edith J. "Edy" Kempney; his father, Kenneth J. David, Sr. and significant other, Joan
Montondo, Watertown; three sons, Jeffery, Chaumont, and Christopher and Kenneth, both of California; four grandchildren;
four siblings, Deborah A. Strouse and significant other, Michael Waschezen, Adams Center and her twin brother, Daniel L. and Lori David, Clayton, Kathy M. and Kevin Hoppel, Watertown, and Randy A. and Bobbie David, Clayton; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
His mother died before him.
