Carolyn J. Damon

CALCIUM, N.Y.  —  Carolyn Jean Damon, 73, of Bush Road, passed away Wednesday morning, Dec. 21, at her home. 

She was born March 8, 1938, in Watertown, the daughter of Sylvester and Beulah Hall Jacox. 

She married Dale S. Damon on June 8, 1957, at Holy Family Church in Watertown. Mr. Damon died Feb. 18, 2003. 

Mrs. Damon worked at Stature Electric and was a homemaker raising eight children and many grandchildren. 

She was a communicant of Immaculate Conception Church in Brownville and Holy Family Church in Watertown. 

Surviving are two sons, Robert and his wife, Kathy Damon, Dexter, and Lloyd Damon, and his companion, Angela Alguire, Calcium; four sisters, Dale Anne Damon and her companion, Francis Keenan, Watertown, Sandra and her husband Robert Stewart, Theresa, Linda Damon and her companion, Shawn Martin, Dexter, and Barbara Damon and her companion, Chris Smith, Theresa; four brothers, Charles Jacox, Harlowe "Bucky" Jacox, Lloyd Jacox, all of Glens Falls, N.Y., and John Hardter, Watertown; many grandchildren, nieces and nephews. 

A son, Randy, died in 2000. A son, Charles, in infancy, and two sisters, Patricia Watson and Sally Barker, also predeceased her. 

A funeral Mass will be said noon Friday, Dec. 23, at the Immaculate Conception Church in Brownville with Rev. Kevin O'Brien officiating. Burial will follow the service at Glenwood Cemetery, Watertown. A calling hour will be held at the church from 11 a.m. to noon prior to the funeral.  

Contributions may be made in her honor to either Immaculate Conception Church or Hospice of Jefferson County.
