Richard A. Harra

WATERTOWN, N.Y.  —  Richard A. Harra, 78, of Ann Street, died Thursday, Dec. 20, at Mercy of Northern New York.

Born July 4, 1934, in Englewood, N.J., the son of Walter and Lida Schoepe Harra, he graduated in 1952 from Watertown High School.

He married Rosalind M. Hughto on Aug. 22, 1954, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in LaFargeville with Rev. Howard P. McCasland officiating. Mrs. Harra died Aug. 21, 2005.

Mr. Harra was employed with the City of Watertown Department of Public Works for thirty years, retiring in 1986.

He was a life member of the North Side Improvement League.

He enjoyed fishing and playing cards.

Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Richard L. and Julie, and Michael and his companion, Fran Parsons, all of Watertown; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Brenda and John Grabek, Mesa, Ariz., Susan and Douglas Kenfield, Burrville and Julie Grabek and her companion, Richard Gowing, Watertown; 14 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Linda Harra, Watertown.

The will be no services. 

Arrangements are with Frederick Bros. Funeral Home, Inc., Theresa.
