CARTHAGE, N.Y.  —  Judith Ann "Judy” Smith, 73, of 21 Norris Ave., died Tuesday, Dec. 20, at Carthage Area Hospital where she had been a patient for a few days. 

Born Dec. 18, 1938, in Nashua, New Hampshire, the daughter of Andrew and Ann Fleming Brunelle, she attended St. Patrick’s High School.

She married Edward N. Smith on Dec. 31, 1963, in Great Bend. 

Mrs. Smith was a homemaker.

She enjoyed watching television, especially soap operas. She loved to needlepoint and solve puzzles.

Surviving are her husband, Edward, Carthage; several children, Robert and his wife, Tracy Smith, Carthage, Kevin and his wife, Marilyn Jackson, New Hampshire, Edward Smith, Carthage, Michael Smith and his companion, Shelley Shumway, Lacona; a daughter, Cindy and her husband David Dusharm, Virginia; a brother, Tom and his wife, Cecile Brunelle, Nashua, New Hampshire; and four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Calling hours will be held 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 23, at Lundy Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc., 500 State Str., Carthage. A funeral service will be held in the chapel of the Funeral Home with Rev. Thomas J. Higman, St. James Catholic Church, Carthage, officiating. Burial will take place in Hudson, New Hampshire.
