Neal E. Warren

WATERTOWN, N.Y.  —  Neal E. Warren, 73, of Franklin Street, passed away Tuesday morning at his home. 

Mr. Warren was a math teacher for the Watertown City School District retiring in 1990 after 30 years at Watertown High and Case Junior High Schools. 

Born Feb. 13, 1938, in Carthage, the son of Curtis and Hazel Edmonds Warren, he was a graduate of Carthage High School. Mr. Warren received his master's degree in mathematics at SUNY Albany in 1960. 

He married Shirley Archambault on June 5, 1960, in Albany. Mr. Warren served in the United States Army Reserves until he was called back to teach high school. 

He volunteered as a driver for Jefferson County Social Services and enjoyed reading, hiking, canoeing and the outdoors. 

He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. 

Surviving besides his wife, Shirley, are two sons and their wives, David and Robin Warren, Watertown, and Olin and Dawn Warren, Watertown; five grandchildren, Piper Warren, Julian Warren, Cyrus Warren, Tyler Warren and Justin Briggs, as well as many cousins. 

A brother, Donald, predeceased him. 

The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 23, at Reed & Benoit Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Bartholomew, pastor of Faith Fellowship Church, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Carthage. Calling Hours will be 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 22, at the funeral home. 

Donations may be made in his honor to either Faith Fellowship Christian School or the Unitarian Universalist Church.
