Thomas C. Aubertine, 86, of County Route 6,
passed away, Tuesday, Dec. 20, at his home under the care of
his family and Hospice Jefferson County.
Born Aug. 26, 1925, in Watertown, the son of Charles and
Estelle Aubertine, he graduated from Cape Vincent Schools,
received a bachelor's degree in engineering from Clarkson
University, Potsdam,
Tom served in the Army from January 1952 to January 1954,
serving in the Korean Conflict.
He married Constance Pilon Handley in May of 1968; Constance
died April 19, 1995.
Mr. Aubertine worked with his father at Charles Aubertine
and Son Hardware, Cape Vincent, later owning and operating
the business until he retired in 1985.
Tom was a member of St. Vincent De Paul Church in Rosiere,
the Rosiere Knights of Columbus, and the Cape Vincent
American Legion Post.
Surviving are his son, Chris Handley, Mannsville; a
daughter, Claudia Pitoniak, Bloomfield, N.Y.; five
grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28, at St.
Vincent De Paul Church, Rosiere, with Fr. Pierre Aubin,
pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the St. Vincent De
Paul Cemetery. There will be no calling hours.
Arrangements are with the Cleveland Funeral Home, Cape
Vincent.
Donations may be given in his memory to Hospice of Jefferson
County, 425 Washington St. Watertown, N.Y. 13601.
