Beverly H. Ashe Schug, 88, of 139 Park Drive
East, and Palm Beach, Fla., died Wednesday, Dec. 21, at her
home under the care of her family and friends.
Born Nov. 15, 1923, in Carthage, the daughter of, Earl and
Thelma Remington Hubbard, she graduated from Watertown High
School and attended Cazenovia Semnary in 1941. She attended
Syracuse University and graduated from the Watertown
Business Center.
Beverly worked as a court
stenographer for Jefferson County and on the Rationing Board.
She later worked as secretary for her father at Wilma Motor
Sales Corp, Watertown.
She married Charles J. Ashe on Dec. 1, 1945, and he died in
1977. She later married Freemont Schug in August 2003. Mr.
Schug died April 19, 2008.
Beverly was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, American
Legion Post 61 Auxiliary, Jefferson County Historical
Society, Ives Hill Country Club and the Watertown Golf Club.
She enjoyed playing golf, bridge, traveling and spending
time with her family.
Mrs. Schug is survived by, a son, Richard Ashe, Watertown; a
daughter in law, Barbara Ashe, Watertown; four grandchildren
Kimberly M. Ashe and Gregory C. Ashe, Watertown, Jeannette
Farrer, Florida, Stephanie Visconti, Sun City, Arizona; two
great grandchildren, Brooke and Zachery Farrer, Florida.
Two sons, Gary C. Ashe and Stephen Ashe died before her.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 29, at
Trinity Episcopal Church, Watertown, with the Rev. Walter
Giles and Rev. H. Alan Smith co-officiating. Burial will be
held in Fairview Cemetery, Carthage. Calling hours will be 7
to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28, at Cleveland Funeral Home.
A graveside committal service will be held at the same time
for her son, Gary C. Ashe.
