Floyd E. Berry
Jr., 59, passed away at his home on Route 3, town of
Ellisburg, after being stricken ill early in the day on
Saturday, Dec. 23.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 28, at Carpenter-Stoodley
Funeral Home, Belleville, with Rev. Jane Eastham, pastor of
the Henderson United Methodist Church, officiating. Spring
burial will be in Ellisburg Cemetery. Calling hours will be
5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 27, at the funeral home.
Born Feb. 5, 1953, in Miami, Fla., a son to Floyd E. Berry
Sr. and Veronica Baublitz Berry, he graduated in 1971 from
Union Academy Belleville and later received a bachelor's of
science degree in chemistry from SUNY Oswego.
In his early years, Floyd worked for Harbor Builders in
Henderson and Eastman Construction in Ellisburg. He later
worked for many years for Keith’s Radio and TV in both
Belleville and Pulaski. He worked for TYCO Industries in
Watertown for nine years and was currently working as a lab
technician for Aerotek at Bristol-Myers Squibb in Syracuse.
As a young man, Floyd was a motorcycle enthusiast.
He enjoyed being with his cats and dog.
Floyd is survived by two brothers and a sister-in-law,
Arthur D. and Linda, Woodville, and Kevin D., Fairport; a
sister, Kathleen A. Mathews, Arlington, Va.; many nieces and
nephews.
He was predeceased by his father in 1982 and his mother in
1979. A brother Robert L. Mathews died in 2000. Floyd’s
companion of many years, Valarie Briot, passed away Aug. 15,
2006.
