WATERTOWN, N.Y.
— Leo F. Holland, 79, of Boon Street,
passed away Friday, Dec. 23, at University Hospital,
Syracuse, where he had been a patient for six days.
The funeral will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28, at Reed &
Benoit Funeral Home with Rev. Donald Robinson officiating.
Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery. Calling hours are
4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 27, at the funeral home where
members of VFW Post 1400 will conduct a memorial service at
4 p.m.
Born March 24, 1932, in So. Boston, Mass., a son of John and
Helen Flaherty Holland, he was educated in So. Boston
schools. He served with the Army during the Korean War and
was stationed in Korea in 1952.
He married Rachel McDonald April 12, 1953, at St. Patrick's
Church, Watertown.
Mr. Holland worked for the New York National Guard on Fort
Drum, serving as shop leader with the SMA ( Support
Maintenance Activity) retiring after 35 years of service.
Leo was a member of St. Patrick's Church, VFW Post 1400 and
the Watertown Elks.
He enjoyed spending time with his grandsons and being with
his friends at hunting camp.
Besides his wife Rachel, he is survived by a son and his
wife, John and Lynne Holland, S. Glens Falls, N.Y.; three
grandsons, Ryan, Ross and Reid Holland; two sisters, Carol
Cormack and Pauline McManus, both of Quincy, Mass.; a
brother John Holland, Vt.; several nieces and nephews.
