Patricia J. Thurheimer

ADAMS CENTER, N.Y.  —  Patricia J. Thurheimer, 70, of Route 11, passed away Sunday morning, Dec. 25, at Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown, where she had been a patient since Dec. 19.    

Calling hours will be 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28, at Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., Watertown. The funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 29, at the funeral home with Rev. Patrick A. Ratigan, of St. Cecilia Church, Adams, officiating. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery.    

Born March 10, 1941, in Corinth, the daughter of Charles W. and Genevieve E. Foster Kendall, she graduated from St. Mary's Academy, Glens Falls, and from Mildred Elly Business School, Albany.    


She married Dean H. Thurheimer pm Aug. 29, 1964, at Our Lady of Lourdes Grotto, Albany.    

Mrs. Thurheimer worked for the Federal Housing Authority in Albany for six years before moving to Watertown. 

The couple has lived in Adams Center for forty years where she has been a mother and homemaker.    

She was a communicant of St. Cecelia’s Church. 

Mrs. Thurheimer was a member of the Girl Scouts of America for over 35 years as a troop leader and volunteer. She also volunteered for Boy Scouts of America and the Rohde Center, Adams, and served a term on the Jefferson County Board of Ethics.  

She was a member of the Kazoo Kuties, a group of her closest friends.    

Besides her husband, Dean, she is survived by her three daughters, Katherine Thurheimer and husband, Michael Eichner, Rochester, Keira Thurheimer, Adams Center, and Karen Thurheimer, Sackets Harbor; three sons, Eric, Durham, N.C., Kurt, Adams Center, and Kenneth, Chapel Hill, N.C.; a brother, Michael Kendall, Ariz.; three sisters, Karen Sullivan, Glens Falls, and Jeanne LaFarr and Nancy Kendall, both of Saratoga; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws.    

Donations may be made in her name to either Rohde Center Food Pantry, 2 East Church St. or South Jeff Rescue Squad, 38 Main St., both in Adams, NY 13605.
