John M. Bond

CLAYTON, N.Y.  —  John M. Bond, 53, of House Road, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 28, at his home.

The family will receive friends noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 31, at Joe and Susie Bond's home, 12176 House Rd., Clayton. 

Arrangements are with Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., Clayton.

Born Feb. 9, 1958, in Alexandria Bay, son of Leo J. and Nancy Kennedy Bond, he attended Thousand Islands High School. 

He married Kathy L. Rock on June 24, 1977, in the town of Cape Vincent.

For 30 years he worked for S. Gerald Ingerson Contracting. In 2009, he started his own business, Bond Builders, which he operated until his death. He very much enjoyed woodworking.

Besides his wife, Kathy, and his parents, Leo and Nancy, of Clayton, he is survived by a son and his wife, Jason and Rebecca, Clayton; three grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Adam, and Paul; six brothers, Jim and Laura, Marion, N.Y., his twin, Joe and Susan, Clayton, Bob, Clayton, Kenny and Jennie, Clayton, Tom and Linda, Fishers Landing, and Tim and Tracie, Clayton; five sisters, Peggy and Turk Timmerman, Clayton, Melody and Kenny Brabant, Clayton, Gerry Ann and Randy Kellar, LaFargeville, Christine Bond, Mesa, Ariz., and Tricia and Bobby Bushey, Clayton; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes contributions in his name to either Hospice of Jefferson County, 425 Washington St., or to Children's Miracle Network, 830 Washington St., both in Watertown, NY 13601.
