Christopher J. Steria

LOWVILLE, N.Y.  —  Christopher J. Steria, 32, formerly of Railroad Street died Saturday, Dec. 31, at the Lewis County Residential Health Care Facility where he had resided since 2009. He was under the care of his family and the 3rd floor nursing home staff. 

Born Nov. 25, 1979, in Lowville, the son of Ralph and Kathy Dean Steria, he graduated in 1998 from Lowville Central School. 

An area resident all his life, he resided with his grandmother Rosemary on Railroad Street. 

His interest included sports, he loved basketball, and followed the NY Giants and the Vikings. 

Chris enjoyed being with his family. 

He was a communicant of St. Peter’s Catholic Church where he served as an altar server. 

Surviving are his father and step mother, Ralph and Laurie Steria, Glenfield; a brother, Adam Steria, Glenfield; a sister and her husband, Nicole and Bob Workman, Carthage; his grandmothers, Rosemary Dean and Doris Steria, Lowville; aunts, uncles and cousins. 

His mother Kathy, his grandfathers, Richard Dean and Harold Steria, all died before him.

A funeral Mass will be said 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 4, at St. Peter's Catholic Church with Rev. Christopher Carrara, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Lowville Rural Cemetery in the spring. Calling hours will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3, at Sundquist Funeral Home.
