Beverly Waite, 77, of 12581 US Rt. 11, Adams Center, died
Saturday evening at her home where she had been under the
care of Hospice and her loving family.
A memorial service with Reverend Mona Fargo, pastor of the
Adams United Methodist Church officiating, will be Tuesday
evening at 8:00 p.m. at the church. Calling hours will be at
the church from 5 to 8 p.m. prior to the service.
Burial in Rural Cemetery, Adams, will be private and at the
family's convenience. Arrangements are with the
Piddock Funeral Home, Adams.
Born April 27, 1929 in Watertown, daughter of Carl and
Frances Smith Harwood. She graduated from Adams High School
in 1947. Following graduation, she moved to Detroit,
Michigan, for a short time, returning to Adams in 1948.
She married Paul C. Waite of Adams on August 7, 1948 at the
Adams United Methodist Church with Rev. George M. Butler
officiating. The couple lived in Adams until 1955
moving to Adams Center in 1955. For many years the couple
spent winter in their home in New Smyrna Beach, Fla.
Mr. Waite died December 4, 1986. Mrs. Waite had
continued spending her winters there and summers in Adams
Center.
For several years Mrs.
Waite worked at Watertown National Bank and later as an aide
at South Jefferson Central School from 1974 to1979.
She also assisted her husband in the operation of Waite
Motor Sales on Rt. 11 in Adams Center.
Mrs. Waite enjoyed golf, painting, spending time with her
grandsons and cheering for the Atlanta Braves Baseball team.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Barry L. and
Ellen Waite, Adams Center, one daughter and son-in-law,
Cheryl M. and Carl Robbins, Adams, four grandsons,
Travis Downey, Adams Center, Darrick Pleskach, Cicero,
Justin Waite and Matthew Waite, both of Adams Center, and
one niece, Gail Thompson, Ariz.
She is predeceased by one sister Helen Thompson.
