CARTHAGE, N.Y.
— Maria
Brzezinski, 87, formerly of 36282 County Route 36, died
Saturday morning, Aug. 1, in the Carthage Area Hospital. She
has been a resident of the Country Manor Nursing Home for
three years.
Born Nov. 21, 1921, in
Rustorf, Austria, she attended schools and worked in Rustorf
until she met her husband, Edward Brzezinski, who was a
corporal with the Army. They were married on Oct. 31, 1946,
in Vienna Austria.
The couple returned to the United States in 1947. Mr.
Brzezinski was killed in an automobile accident on March 31,
1967.
She was a homemaker who enjoyed knitting, crocheting,
reading, and gardening and truly enjoyed all of nature’s
creatures.
She had taught herself to read and write the English
language and enjoyed visiting with her close friend Marsha
Flynn.
Surviving are two sons, Max Brzezinski, Carthage, and Victor
Brzezinski and his wife Andrea of Solvay; a grandson, Chad
Brzezinski; a sister, Mrs. Ernst Traude Haberl, Altenberg,
Austria; and nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Bezanilla-McGraw
Funeral Home, 518 State St. with Rev. John J. Cosmic
officiating. Burial will be in Black River Cemetery. Calling
hours will be 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
