— Larry G.
Beckstead, 58, died Thursday evening at his home.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 18, at Carpenter-Stoodley
Funeral Home, Belleville. Burial will be at Lorraine
Cemetery. Calling hours are 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17,
at the funeral home.
Born Feb. 27, 1951, in Watertown, the son of Charles C.
Beckstead and Pauline V. Thompson, both who predeceased him,
he graduated in 1969 from Belleville Central School.
He married Donna June Dean in
Rome, N.Y., on Aug. 11, 1973. The couple had two sons,
Christopher Carmen, born Oct. 4, 1974 and Andrew Joseph,
born Dec. 9, 1976. They were later divorced.
Mr. Beckstead was in business with his father during the
early years of his career and were well respected
contractors in the area. Larry later focused his talents on
professional painting and was highly sought after in
residential and commercial painting.
He enjoyed restoring antique cars and attending car shows,
particularly anything to do with Ford Mustangs. He fully
restored a 1946 Chevrolet pickup truck and could often be
seen riding around town and in Adams parades.
Surviving are his companion, Daralee Mascle; two sons and a
daughter-in-law, Christopher and Rose, Charlotte, N.C., and
Andrew, Adams; grandchildren, Charles Dean, Nicholas John
and Alina Rose; and a brother, Charles Gary, Adams, N.Y.
Larry also leaves behind his beloved German Shorthaired
Pointers, Bugsy and Sophie.
