J. St. Pierre, 93, formerly of 291 Scheley Dr. and 628
Lillian St., died Friday,
April 16, at Samaritan Keep Home.
Born May 27, 1916,
in the Montreal, Canada, the son of Ferdinand and Rose
Boulier St. Pierre, the family moved to the United States in
1923 where he graduated from a local high school.
He served in the Army during World War II, and was honorably
discharged at the rank of staff sergeant.
He was married to Gladys Smith on Nov. 30, 1940.
Mr. St.Pierre worked as a sheet metal worker, for the Sheet
Metal Worker Union, in Syracuse. He also owned and operated
several service-gas stations in the Watertown area.
He was a member of American Legion Post 61, Watertown, the
Veterans of Foreign Wars Post and a former member of the
Elks Club of Watertown.
He was a communicant of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church.
Surviving are his wife, Gladys; a son, Terry, Watertown; two
daughters, Andrea St. Pierre, Lehigh Acres, Fla., and Shayne
DeLaurier, Richmond, Va.; 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren;
several nieces and nephews.
Private family funeral services will be held at the
convenience of the family, with burial in Glenwood Cemetery.
Arrangements are with the Cleveland Funeral Home, Watertown.
