WATERTOWN, NY — Patricia L. Brazell, 88, Watertown, passed away Tuesday evening, March 12, 2019, at Samaritan Keep Home where she had resided since Nov. 1, 2005.
A calling hour will be held at Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., Watertown on Monday, March 18, from noon to 1 pm followed by the funeral service at 1 pm with Rev. Steven Murray, pastor of Holy Family Church, presiding. Burial will be in the spring in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Patricia was born in the town of Pinckney on July 13, 1930, a daughter of Daniel and Marion Potter Zellar.
On April 30, 1949 she married Wesley N. Brown, Jr. in Watertown and the marriage ended in divorce. She then married Walter Brazell on May 1, 1976 in St. Mary’s Church, Clayton with Fr. Euclid Marier officiating. Mr. Brazell died July 4, 1995.
She had worked several jobs, including working for several lawyers, Mercy Hospital, and the TI Bridge Authority. She retired as branch manager for Olsten Staffing Service, Watertown and Ogdensburg.
She had attended Holy Family Church.
Her passion was cats of all kinds.
Patricia is survived by her three children, Kurt A. Brown and wife, Marcia, Syracuse, Deane C. Brown and wife, Marlene, San Tan Valley, AZ, and Lisa Lounsbury and husband, Randy, Utica; daughter-in-law, Phyllis Brown, Aurora, CO; five grandchildren, Eric and Jeremy Brown, Jessica Neal and husband, Justin, and Shannon and Casey O’Brien; ten great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Along with her husband, Walter, she was predeceased by her father, Daniel Zellar; mother and step father, Marion and Wesley Gilman; son, Martin P. Brown; grandson, Marc Brown; and brother, Carleton Zellar.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Patricia’s name may be made to either Samaritan Keep Activities Fund, 133 Pratt St. or SPCA of Jefferson County, PO Box 531, both in Watertown, NY 13601.
