11 Motorists Charged with Driving While Intoxicated

The following motorists are charged with driving while intoxicated and related offenses:

Omar Aceves, 27, Fort Drum, was charged by state police at 4:16 a.m. Sunday in the northbound lane of Interstate 81 in the town of Pamelia with with driving while intoxicated. Troopers said they found him laying across the front seat of a vehicle parked on the east shoulder of I-81 with no lights on with the engine and wipers running. His blood alcohol content was 0.08 percent, police said.
A BAC level of 0.08 percent or more is considered proof of intoxication under state law. He was released to military custody.

Jack J. Lane III, 25, of 350 Brainard St., Watertown, was charged by Watertown police at 2:08 a.m. Sunday in the 200 block of Thompson Blvd. with aggravated driving while intoxicated and failure to keep right. His blood alcohol content was 0.24 percent, police said. Aggravated DWI, which carries a harsher sentence upon conviction, is charged when the BAC is 0.18 percent or more. He is to appear May 23 in City Court.

Dustin D. Hall, 24, of 188 Flower Ave. E., Watertown was charged by Watertown police at 2:40 a.m. Sunday in the 600 block of Pearl Street with aggravated DWI and speeding. His BAC was 0.24 percent, police said. He was released to military custody and ordered to appear May 30 in City Court.

Charly Quintana, 25, of 204 Wealtha Ave., was charged by Watertown police at 2:59 a.m. Sunday in the 100 block of State Place with DWI and failure to signal. His BAC was 0.16 percent, police said.
He was released to military custody and ordered to appear May 27 in City Court. 

Kyle P. Lewandowski, 22, Tully, was charged by Jefferson County sheriff's deputies at 9:36 p.m. Saturday on W. Church Street in the village of Adams with DWI. His BAC was 0.15 percent, deputies said. He also cited with failure to keep right, passing on the right and failure to signal. He is to answer the charges in Adams Village Court.

Uyles K. Monahan, 33, of 18881 Jericho Rd., Watertown, was charged by Watertown police at 3:25 a.m. Saturday in the 600 block of Huntington Street with aggravated driving while intoxicated. Police said his blood alcohol content was 0.23 percent. Police halted and cited him for an inadequate muffler. He was additionally charged with consuming an alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. Police said his licensed was suspended in September for failure to pay child support. He is to answer the charges May 23 in City Court.

Amy Jo Simser, 29, of 23671 Alexandria St., Carthage was charged by Watertown police at 3:00 a.m. Saturday in the 500 block of Pearl Street with aggravated DWI and first-degree unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. Her blood alcohol content was 0.20 percent, police said. She was additionally cited with inadequate license plate lamps and failure to signal. Her licensed was revoked in October due to a DWI charge, according to court documents. Ms. Simser is ordered to appear May 21 in City Court.

Michael A. Marsco, 49, Webster, Mass., was charged by state police Thursday afternoon on Interstate 81 in the town of Richland in Oswego County. His BAC was 0.09 percent.
He is to answer the charge in Richland Town Court.

Timothy H. Spikes, 21, Fort Drum, was charged at 1:48 a.m. Friday by Watertown police with driving while intoxicated. Police said he backed his 2008 Dodge Ram pickup truck into a 2004 Saturn in the parking lot at Fatboy's tavern, 734 Huntington St. His blood alcohol content was 0.15 percent, police said.
A BAC level of 0.08 percent or more is considered proof of intoxication under state law. Mr. Spikes was additionally cited with unsafe backing. He was released to military custody and ordered to appear May 23 in City Court.

Christa M. McCann, 28, of 23208 Converse Dr., Watertown, was charged by Watertown police at 2:29 a.m. Friday  in the 500 block of Pearl Street with DWI and failure to keep right. Her BAC was 0.12 percent, police. She is to answer the charges May 23 in City Court.

Donald J. Austin, 20, of 10224 N. Riva Ridge Loop, Fort Drum, was charged Wednesday by state police with fourth-degree grand larceny, third-degree unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, DWI, leaving the scene of a personal injury accident, and failure to stop at a stop sign. Troopers said Mr. Austin was operating a 2007 F150 pickup when he failed to stop at a stop sign and was involved in an accident at the intersection of County Route 152 and Route 178 in the town of Henderson. He then left the scene with one of the occupants suffering minor injuries, they said. Trooper Piestroski, stationed in Adams, located the vehicle traveling down the shoulder of County Route 152. While at the scene, the owner of the pickup truck, Jimmy L. Dovel, 21, contacted the state police in Watertown, advising that his truck had been stolen. Mr. Austin was arrested and transported to State Police Adams. His BAC was 0.09 percent, police said. Trooper Pietroski also discovered that Mr. Austin was wanted by State Police Watertown Bureau of Criminal Investigation for fourth-degree grand larceny. Mr. Austin issued a $1,753.18 check on Feb.21 to Widrick's Rent-A-Wreck, 19079 Route 11, Watertown, for a rental vehicle on a closed bank account. Mr. Austin was arraigned before LeRay Town Justice George E. Mead III, and remanded to the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building, Watertown, under $10,000 bail, pending grand jury action.
