Seven
Motorists Accused of Driving While Intoxicated

The following motorists are charged with driving while
intoxicated and related offenses:
Raymond R. Brown, 48, of Windsor, N.Y., was charged by state police at
6:20 p.m. Saturday on Route 12 in the town of Alexandria with aggravated
driving while intoxicated and consuming an alcoholic beverage in a motor
vehicle. Troopers said he was observed parking along Route 12 in front of the
state police barracks. He exited the vehicle and got into the back, they said.
His blood alcohol content was 0.23 percent, troopers said. Aggravated DWI, which carries a harsher sentence upon
conviction, is charged when the BAC is 0.18 percent or more. He allegedly told
police he was driving from Alexandria Bay to Sackets Harbor. He is to answer
the charges in Alexandria Town Court.
Marshall W. Hayes, 22, of 11757 Route 178, Adams, was charged Saturday
afternoon by state police with aggravated DWI, felony aggravated unlicensed
operation of a motor vehicle and failure to keep right. Mr. Hayes was arrested
following a minor property damage accident in which he struck a vehicle
operated by Linda S. Chiasson, 48, Henderson, in front of Kinney Drugs, Route
11, in the town of Adams, troopers said. Mr. Hayes, was operating his vehicle
while suspended for a previous and still pending aggravated DWI charge on Feb.
16, they said. His BAC was 0.18 percent, troopers said. He is to answer the
charges May 28 in Adams Town Court. Ms. Chiasson was not issued any tickets as
a result of the accident.
Thomas R. Maedl, 42, of 12 Arlington Dr., Pittsford, was stopped by
state police at 1:00 a.m. Sunday on County Route 15 in the town of Sandy Creek
for inadequate license plate lamps and charged with aggravated DWI. His BAC was
0.18 percent, troopers said. He is to answer the charges June 5 in Sandy Creek
Town Court.

Christopher J. Ketzenberg, 26, of 10114 N. Riva Ridge Loop, Fort Drum,
was charged by Watertown police at 2:34 a.m. Saturday in the 200 block of High
Street with aggravated driving while intoxicated, failure to keep right and
driving without a license. Police said he was observed nearly striking the
center median island in the 600 block of State Street. His blood alcohol
content was 0.24 percent, police said. He was released to
military custody and ordered to appear June 3 in City Court.
Daniel L. Yoder, 39, of 20 Quail Dr., McVeytown, Pa., was charged early
Saturday by state police on Demot Road in the town of Morristown with DWI. His
BAC was 0.12 percent, troopers said.
A BAC level of 0.08 percent or more is
considered proof of intoxication under state law. He is to answer the charges
in Morristown Town Court.
Theresa L. McDonald, 42, Theresa, was charged Thursday night on Route 37
in the town of Theresa with DWI, according to state police. She was
additionally cited with operating an unregistered vehicle, consuming alcohol in
a motor vehicle and refusing to take a breath screening test, troopers said.
She was sent to the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building under $500 bail and
was later released.
John L. Austin, 23, of 942 State St., Carthage, was charged Friday with
DWI by the Carthage Village Police Department, according to Jefferson County
jail documents. He was sent to the jail by Village Justice S. Lucille
Shettleton under $1,000 bail and was later released. Details of his arrest were
unavailable from village police.
