Deputies: Man Menaced Woman with Lit Cigarette

WATERTOWN, N.Y.   Matthew J. Paul Sr., 49, of 25152 Route 126, was charged at 7:19 p.m. Thursday with third-degree menacing and second-degree harassment, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department.

Deputies said Mr. Paul grabbed Breanna M. Ferguson, 19, same address, by the throat and waved a lit cigarette in a menacing manner during a domestic incident in their home on Aug. 19.

He was arraigned before Hounsfield Town Justice Loomis and send to the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building under $250 bail. He is ordered to appear Sept. 4 in town of Watertown Court.
