FRIDAY, MARCH 2, MEDIA RELEASE

On 2/25/12 at 12:00 p.m., Matthew E. Peneston, 25, of 566 CR 54, Pennellville, NY was operating a 2000 Chevrolet south on CR 57A, at Hilltop Dr., in the Town of Schroeppel when he reportedly lost control on the curve causing the vehicle to leave the roadway on the east side and collide with the guard rail.  Mr. Peneston was issued a UTT for Speed Not Reasonable. 


THURSDAY, MARCH 1, MEDIA RELEASE

On 2/26/12 at 12:05 p.m., Clinton S. Smith, 31, of 3944 SR 13, Pulaski, NY was arrested for Registration Suspended following a traffic stop on SR 13 in the Village of Pulaski initiated after patrol’s LPR unit alerted.  Mr. Smith was released on a UTT, returnable to the V/O Pulaski Court on 3/21/12.

 

On 2/28/12 at 1:40 p.m., Brandianne C. Reed, 26, of 17 Speech Dr., Central Square, NY was arrested for AUO, 2nd degree (10 suspensions on 4 dates) following a traffic stop on US Rt. 11 in the Town of Hastings. Ms. Reed was issued a UTT, returnable to the Town of Hastings Court on 3/14/12.

 

On 2/29/12 at 6:11 p.m., Douglas L. Pitsley, 29, of 120 Liberty St. Apt B Upstairs, Oswego, NY was arrested at his residence based on a Bench Warrant issued out of the City of Oswego by Hon. Judge Metcalf charging him with Criminal Mischief, 3rd degree.  Mr. Pitsley was arraigned in the City of Oswego Court and remanded to the OCJ in lieu of $500 cash or $1000 bond with a return to court date of 3/6/12.


WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 29, MEDIA RELEASE

On 2/26/12 at 11:00 p.m., Kenneth C. Carr, 26, of 279 Ball Rd., Hastings, NY was arrested for AUO, 3rd degree (suspended on 7/13/10 for Failure to Pay Driver Responsibility), Failure to Obey a Police Officer and Unsafe Movement of Stopped MV following an incident at the intersection of Shanty Creek Rd. and CR 32 in the Town of Hastings after he was observed by an investigator from OCSD spinning his vehicle tires to the point it went sideways and then when emergency lights were activated, proceeded  to go around the investigator’s vehicle and accelerate south onto Shanty Creek Rd.,  where he was located in a driveway. Mr. Carr was released on UTT’s, returnable to the Town of Hastings Court on 3/7/12. 

On 2/28/12 at 7:30 a.m., Tammy C. Russell, 32, of 107 Oneida Village Dr., Fulton, was arrested for AUO, 3rd degree (suspended on 1/18/12 for insurance not in effect) and Speed in Zone following a traffic stop on SR 3 in the Town of Mexico initiated after patrol’s radar confirmed the vehicle’s speed. Ms. Russell was released on UTT’s, returnable to the Town of Mexico Court on 3/13/12. 

On 2/28/12 at 8:10 p.m., Kasya M. Varnum, 21, of Rowlee Rd. Bldg. 851, Fulton, was arrested for AUO, 3rd degree (suspended on 1/26/12 for failure to answer Summons in C/O Fulton) and Failure to Stop at a Stop Sign following a traffic stop on Middle Rd. in the Town of Scriba.  Ms. Varnum was released on UTT’s, returnable to the Town of Scriba Court on 3/8/12. 

On 2/28/12 at 8:42 p.m., Allan S. Syrell, 24, of 7553 SR 104, Oswego, was arrested for Unlawful Possession of Marihuana following a traffic stop on SR 104 in the Town of Scriba.  Mr. Syrell was released on an appearance ticket, returnable to the Town of Scriba Court on 3/8/12. 

On 2/28/12 at 2:14 p.m., James D. Keys, 77, of 3275 Fulton, was operating a 2010 Chrysler suburban in the parking lot of the Fastrac on East Ave. in the Village of Central Square reportedly pulling forward and left away from the gas pump when his vehicle collided with a 2000 Dodge suburban being operated by Charles A. Switzer, 50, of 221 Orton Rd., Pulaski that was pulling into the parking lot.  A passenger in Mr. Switzer’s vehicle, Rebecca A. Rumble, 20, was transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse.  Unsafe speed and view obstruction seem to have been contributing factors. 

On 2/29/12 at 4:40 a.m., Thomas E. Kowanes II, 32, of 15 Clay St., Cleveland, was arrested based on a Family Court Warrant issued out of Oswego County charging him with violating Article IV of the Family Court Act, failure to pay child support.  Mr. Kowanes was arraigned in Oswego County Family Court by Hon. Judge Todd and remanded to the OCJ in lieu of $5000 cash or $10000 bond with a return to court date of 2/29/12.  During the arrest for the warrant, Mr. Kowanes was charged with Resisting Arrest after he allegedly would not put his hands behind his back and continued to pull away from patrol.  He was issued an appearance ticket, with a return to Constantia Town Court on 3/5/12.



TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 28, MEDIA RELEASE


On 2/19/12 at 1:50 a.m., Robert W. Goodman, 43, of 1676 CR 57, Fulton, NY was operating a 2002 Oldsmobile suburban south on CR 57 in the Town of Volney and lost control causing the vehicle to exit the roadway and collide with a utility pole before colliding with a parked 2012 Dodge pickup and a 2007 Dodge pickup in the parking lot at Longley Brothers Dodge.  Mr. Goodman was issued a UTT for Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Accident.  Slippery pavement seems to have been a contributing factor.

 

On 2/27/12 at 10:47 a.m., John M. Schultz, 38, of 895 CR 85, Hannibal, NY was arrested based on a Bench Warrant issued out of the Town of Granby Court charging him with Petit Larceny.  Mr. Schultz was arraigned by Hon. Judge Wells and remanded to the OCJ in lieu of $250 cash or $500 bond.

 

On 2/27/12 at 12:30 p.m., Thomas J. Bean, 44, of 66 W 2nd St., Fulton, NY was arrested for Criminal Contempt, 1st degree, a class E felony and Aggravated Harassment, 2nd degree, a class A misdemeanor following the investigation into an incident that occurred on 2/18/12 in the Town of Scriba after he allegedly made a verbal threat over the phone to the victim of which has a stay away and refrain from order of protection filed against Mr. Bean.  Mr. Bean was arraigned in the Town of Scriba Court by Hon. Judge Adkins and remanded to OCJ in lieu of $1000 cash or $2000 bond with a return to court date of 3/1/12.


MONDAY, FEBRUARY 27, MEDIA RELEASE

On 2/24/12 at 9:14 a.m., Curtis J. Relyea, Jr., 29, of 29 North St., Mexico, NY, was taken into custody based on a Family Court Warrant.  Mr. Relyea was arraigned before the Hon. Kimberly Seager, Oswego County Family Court, and remanded to the Oswego County Correctional Facility in lieu of $7,500 cash bail or bond.  He is scheduled to appear before Essex County Family Court on 2/27/12. 

On 2/24/12 at 10:15 a.m., Eric A. Spicer, 22, of 104 Meaney Circle, Oswego, NY, was arrested for Attempted Escape, Third Degree, a class A misdemeanor; as well as Disorderly Conduct and Harassment, Second Degree, both violations, after he reportedly, made physical contact with a uniformed Deputy and repeatedly used abusive and vulgar language, all during the investigation into another complaint.  Mr. Spicer was issued appearance tickets returnable to Oswego City Court on 3/08/12. 

On 2/24/12 at 6:50 p.m., Raymond Williams, 32, of 765 Lincoln Ave., New York, NY, an inmate at the Oswego County Correctional Facility, was arrested for Promoting Prison Contraband, a class A misdemeanor, and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, a violation, after he was found to be in possession of marijuana inside his assigned cell.  Mr. Williams was issued an appearance ticket returnable to Oswego City Court on 3/06/12. 

On 2/24/12 at 8:27 p.m., Cassandra J. Nosbisch, 20, of 110 Haussauer Rd., Getzville, NY, was operating a 2005 Mazda northbound on I-81 in the Town of Richland when she reportedly lost control of the vehicle causing it to veer of the east side of the shoulder and strike a guard rail.  Ms. Nosbisch had to be cut from the vehicle.  She was subsequently transported by ambulance to the Samaritan Medical Center in Watertown.  Slippery pavement appears to have been a contributing factor in the incident with road conditions reported to be covered in snow and ice at the time. 

On 2/24/12 at 10:40 p.m., Jeremy R. Bristol, 24, of 3250 CR 69, Parish, NY, was arrested for Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a class A misdemeanor, after he was involved in a domestic incident with another male reportedly while in the presence of a minor. Mr. Bristol was released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to answer the charge before Town of Mexico Court on 3/13/12. 

On 2/24/12 at 11:22 p.m., William D. Somers, 53, of 4 Airport Road, Apt. 4, Fulton, NY, was arrested for Menacing, Second Degree, a class A misdemeanor, following an incident that occurred at his residence during which he allegedly put a kitchen knife to a female victim’s neck and threatened to cut her head off.  Mr. Somers was arraigned before the Hon. Bruce Wells, Town of Granby Court, and released on his own recognizance.  He is scheduled to return to court on 2/27/12. 

On 2/25/12 at 4:36 a.m., Samantha Sanchez, 21, of 251 Bateman Road, Fulton, NY, was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated, Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, Consumption of Alcohol in a Motor Vehicle, and Failed to Keep Right, following the investigation into a motor vehicle accident that occurred on SR 48 in the Town of Granby.  She was reportedly driving northbound when she lost control causing her 1998 Acura to go of the road into a yard on the west side of SR 48 just north of the Fulton.  Ms. Sanchez was issued tickets and released. She is scheduled to appear before Town of Granby Court on 3/26/12 to answer the charges.  A member of the Fulton Police Department assisted at the scene. 

On 2/25/12 at 8:11 a.m., Ronald J. Myers, 43, of 239 Harris Hill Road, Hannibal, NY, was arrested for Criminal Possession of a Weapon, Third Degree, a class E felony, stemming from the investigation into an unrelated incident that occurred on 2/23/12 during which he was found to be in possession of six unregistered hand guns and he did not possess a NYS pistol permit.  Mr. Myers was arraigned before the Hon. Edward Lewis, Town of Hannibal Court, and remanded to the Oswego County Correctional Facility in lieu of $500 cash bail or $1,000 bail bond.  He is scheduled to return to court on 3/13/12. 

On 2/25/12 at 12:04 p.m., Luis X. Vargas, 40, of 177 E. Mohawk St., Oswego, NY, was charged with Operation While Registration Suspended (registration suspended on 2/19/12 for insurance lapse); Aggravated Unlicensed Operation, Third Degree (license suspended on 9/08/2011 for pending prosecution by court, on 7/26/2011 for failure to pay driver responsibility assessment, and on 4/07/2011 for driving while ability impaired by alcohol); and Unlicensed Operator, following a traffic stop on CR 4 in the Town of Scriba after a License Plate Reader targeted his vehicle as he drove southbound on City Line Road.  Mr. Vargas was released on tickets returnable to Town of Scriba Court on 3/08/12. 

On 2/25/12, April W. Dumas, 25, of 4 Powers Drive, Fulton, NY, was operating a 2002 Mazda southbound on CR 8 in the Town of Granby at 7:59 p.m. when she lost control 600 feet north of Lakeshore Road, striking a guide rail before coming to rest.  Slippery pavement appears to have been a contributing factor with road conditions reported to be covered with snow and ice at the time.  Ms. Dumas was issued a ticket for Failed to Keep Right. 

On 2/26/12 at 3:04 a.m., Nicole A. Joseph, 26, of 1237 CR 85, Lot 2, Hannibal, NY, was taken into custody based on a bench warrant issued by Oswego City Court that was revealed during an unrelated investigation.  Ms. Joseph was turned over to a member of the Oswego City Police Department for further processing. 

On 2/27/12 at 1:40 a.m., Amy E. Laxton, 29, of 117 Franklin St., Auburn, NY, was arrested based on a bench warrant issued by Town of Oswego Court charging her with Failure to Appear.  Ms. Laxton was arraigned before the Hon. Michael Sterio, Town of Oswego Court, and remanded to the Oswego County Correctional Facility in lieu of $1,000 cash bail or bond.  She is scheduled to return to court on 3/05/12.

On 2/27/12 at 1:41 a.m., Joshua M. Sova, 26, of 7551 SR 104, Lot 11, Oswego, NY, was arrested for Public Lewdness, a class B misdemeanor, after he was accused of pulling his pants down and exposing his penis through a window at his residence during an argument that was taking place with another individual who was outside of his residence.  Mr. Sova was arraigned before the Hon. Michael Sterio, Town of Oswego Court, and remanded to the Oswego County Correctional Facility in lieu of $500 cash bail or $1,000 bail bond.  He is scheduled to return to court on 3/05/12 to answer the charge. 

On 2/27/12 at 2:10 a.m., Ashley M. Feliciano, 23, of 7551 SR 104, Lot 11, Oswego, NY, was arrested for Aggravated Harassment, Second Degree, a class A misdemeanor.  Ms. Feliciano was issued an appearance ticket and released.  She is scheduled to answer the charge before Town of Oswego Court on 3/12/12.  During the investigation into an unrelated complaint of harassment, Ms. Feliciano reportedly swore at the uniformed deputy who was on the scene, then called Sheriff’s Dispatch and screamed the same vulgarities at the desk Sergeant because she reportedly stated the deputy on the scene wouldn’t cooperate with her demands, which were unrelated to the incident being investigated at the time. 


FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 24, MEDIA RELEASE

On 2/23/12 at 7:40 a.m., Daryl J. Davis, 21, of Horseshoe Island Rd. Bldg. 9144, Clay, NY was arrested for AUO, 2nd degree ( suspended on 1/7/11 for Failure to Pay Child Support, Failure to Answer Summons in T/O Clay and Failure to Answer Summons in T/O Sullivan, 3 scoffs on 3 dates) and Unsafe Backing following the investigation into a two vehicle mva in the parking lot of the Nice and Easy on CR 10 in the Town of Schroeppel as he was reportedly backing up a 1995 Buick and collided with a 1998 Mitsubishi being operated by Jason M. Candee, 31, of 96 Center Rd., Pennellville, NY that was pulling into a parking space. Mr. Davis was released on UTT’s, returnable to the Town of Schroeppel Court on 3/28/12. 

On 2/23/12 at 7:05 p.m., a 14 year old male residing in the Village of Sandy Creek was charged with Juvenile Delinquency for a crime, if committed by an adult, would constitute the charge of Assault, 3rd degree, a class A misdemeanor. The male is accused of punching the victim in the face with a closed fist causing bone breakage during an incident on school grounds in the Town of Sandy Creek. The male and his parent were issued a Juvenile Appearance directing them to contact the Oswego County Probation Department. 


THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 23, MEDIA RELEASE

On 2/18/12 at 1:40 p.m., Catherine M. Cummings, 24, of 7 ½  Prospect St., Adams, was operating a 2008 Chrysler north on US Rt. 11, 2/10 mile south of the Jefferson County Line, in the town of Sandy Creek when the vehicle reportedly hit some slush in the roadway causing it to spin out and her to lose control with the vehicle going backwards across the roadway and collide with three parked and unoccupied vehicles. Ms. Cummings was transported by ambulance to Samaritan Medical Center in Watertown. 

On 2/22/12 at 2:32 p.m., T homas A. Dinatale, 31, of 2657 SR 3 Lot F3, Fulton, NY was arrested for Registration Suspended(suspended on 12/23/11 for insurance lapse) following a traffic stop on SR 3, near Flood Dr.,  in the Town of Volney initiated by the alerting of the LPR unit in the patrol vehicle. Mr. Dinatale was released on a UTT, returnable to the Town of Volney Court on 3/5/12. 


WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 22, MEDIA RELEASE

On 2/19/12 at 3:13 a.m., Jennelle D. Skinner-Andrews, 36, of 2895 Main St., Blossvale, was operating a 2011 Toyota east on SR 69, 2 miles west of the intersection of SR 183/CR 23, in the Town of Amboy and reportedly exited the roadway and struck the guard rail on the south side then crossed over into the westbound lane and struck the guide rail on the north side before coming to rest.  Ms. Skinner-Andrews was issued a UTT for Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage. Unsafe speed and slippery roads seem to have been contributing factors. 

On 2/20/12 at 8:00 p.m., Mackie Kilts, 43, of 5490 Omara Dr., Brewerton, NY was arrested for Operator Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Accident and AUO, 3rd degree(suspended on 5/15/11 for Failing to Answer Summons in T/O Cicero) following the investigation a one vehicle mva on CR 12 in the Town of Hastings, 2 miles north of Hungry Lane as the vehicle, a 1999 pickup, was reportedly traveling north with Mr. Kilts losing control and hitting an earth embankment on the west side of the road then enter the driveway of 2632 CR 12 and struck the corner of the garage, sliding against the siding and then continue in an easterly direction striking a wooden deck attached to the house before coming to rest in the yard on the north side.  Mr. Kilts was released on appearance tickets, returnable to the Town of Hastings Court on 3/5/12.   

On 2/21/12 at 12:40 p.m., Jason J. Buskey, 36, of 4793 Buckley Rd., Liverpool, NY, Joshua M. Hemingway, 21, of 1531 SR 11, Hastings, NY and Timothy L. Hemingway Jr., 27, of 1108 CR 12, Pennellville, NY were arrested for Petit Larceny as they are accused of stealing a metal horse drawn chipper from property on CR 4 in the Town of Volney in January 2012. All three individuals were issued appearance tickets, returnable to the Town of Volney Court on 3/5/12. 

On 2/21/12 at 12:47 p.m., Michael J. Tyo, 24, of 315 East 2nd Street, Oswego, NY was arrested for Criminal Contempt, 2nd degree, Aggravated Harassment, 2nd degree and Unlawful Possession of Marihuana following the investigation into a complaint initiated in the Town of Volney after he continued to text the victim of which has an active “refrain from” order of protection filed against him, leaving them feeling threatened.  Mr. Tyo was released on appearance tickets, returnable to the Town of Scriba Court on 3/1/12. 

On 2/21/12 at 7:45 p.m., Zachary O. Lanahan, 18, of 20 Hopeful Lane, Gansevoort, NY was arrested for Unlawful Possession of Marihuana following a traffic stop on SR 104 in the Town of Oswego initiated after the driver of the vehicle he was riding in, reportedly crossed the road hazard markings.  Mr. Lanahan was released on an appearance ticket, returnable to the Town of Oswego Court on 3/5/12. 
 

TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 21, MEDIA RELEASE

On 2/19/12 at 11:08 p.m., Mark W. Bachar, 41, of 2558 CR 15, Sandy Creek, was served with a Criminal Summons issued by Town of Richland Court charging him with Harassment, Second Degree, a violation, stemming from an incident that occurred on 1/12/12 during which he allegedly entered a residence and pushed a male victim up again a wall by the victim’s throat.  When a female victim reportedly pulled Mr. Bachar away from the male victim, Mr. Bachar allegedly grabbed her by the throat and pushed her over a sink. During the incident Mr. Bachar also allegedly struck the male victim on the left side of his face, deputies said. Mr. Bachar is scheduled to appear before Town of Richland Court on 2/27/12 to answer the charge.  

On 2/18/12 at 7:22 p.m., Ashley A. Herring, 21, of 1356 Grandview Ave., Somerset, Pa., was operating a 1008 Pontiac southbound on I-81 in the Town of Sandy Creek when she reportedly lost control 3/10 of a mile south of Milepost 130.  The vehicle went into a spin facing an easterly direction, then exited the east side of the roadway striking an earth embankment and rolling over before coming to rest on its roof facing westbound.  Ms. Herring and her passenger, Whitney J. Hambley, 21, were both transported by ambulance to the Samaritan Medical Center in Watertown.  Slippery pavement and unsafe speed appear to have been contributing factors with road conditions reported to be covered in snow and ice at the time of the incident, deputies said. 

On 2/02/12, Zachary M. Thornhill, 22, of 125 Meadow River Drive, Liverpool, NY, was operating a 1995 Chevrolet eastbound on CR 12 in the Town of Schroeppel at 1:34 a.m. when he reportedly lost control 75 feet east of CR 10.  The vehicle reportedly left the north side of the roadway and went onto property at 1058 CR 10 causing damage to the yard.  Mr. Thornhill then left the scene of the accident.  He was subsequently ticketed for Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Accident and Crossed Official/Hazardous Road Markings.  Unsafe speed appears to have been a contributing factor in the incident. 

On 2/14/12, Jacob M. Murphy, 17, of 28 Rogers Road, West Monroe, NY, was operating a 2006 Toyota pickup truck northbound on Webb Avenue in the Village of Central Square at 2:52 p.m. when he reportedly rear-ended a northbound 2011 Buick suburban that was stopped at the stop sign at the intersection of East Avenue and driven by Barbara R. Murphy, 63, of 10170 Black Creek Road, Brewerton, NY.  Mr. Murphy was issued a ticket for Following Too Closely. 

On 2/17/12 at 8:00 a.m., while assigned to a detail at the Paul V. Moore High School located in the Village of Central Square, an officer of the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office arrested Shawn M. Guppy, 18, of 8 Lock St., Phoenix, NY, for Trespass, a violation, after Mr. Guppy, not a registered student at the school, was found walking around inside the school.  Mr. Guppy was issued an appearance ticket returnable to Village of Central Square Court on 2/29/12. 

On 2/17/12 at 9:56 a.m., Tommy E. Guernsey, 34, of 1237 CR 85, Lot 17, Oswego, NY, was arrested at his residence based on a Bench Warrant issued by Onondaga County Family Court.  Mr. Guernsey was turned over to a member of the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office for further processing. 

On 2/17/12 at 6:02 p.m., Karen A. Gilchrist, 27, of 451 CR 11, Lot 56, West Monroe, NY, was arrested for Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a class A misdemeanor, and Disorderly Conduct, a violation, after she reportedly shouted at a Deputy, using vulgar language toward the officer while in the presence of minors.  The incident was reportedly Ms. Gilchrist’s reaction to the investigation into an unrelated incident as Ms. Gilchrist was not happy with the outcome of that investigation.  Ms. Gilchrist was issued an appearance ticket and released.  She is scheduled to answer the charges before Town of West Monroe Court on 3/05/12.

On 2/18/12 at 3:12 a.m., Ronald D. Fortino, 27, of 173 Ball Rd., Hastings, NY, was arrested based on a warrant issued by Town of Hastings Court charging him with Rape, Second Degree, a class D felony, and Rape, Third Degree, a class E felony, stemming from the investigation into a complaint in August of 2011 when Mr. Fortino was accused of engaging in a sexual relationship with two minor females on separate occasions, one under the age of 18, the other under the age of 16.  Mr. Fortino was arraigned before the Hon. Kenneth Adkins, Town of Scriba Court, and remanded to the Oswego County Correctional Facility in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bail bond.  He is scheduled to appear before Town of Hastings Court on 2/2/12. 

On 2/18/11 at 11:00 a.m., Brandon A. McLaughlin, 19, of 82 CR 24, Oswego, NY, was arrested based on a warrant issued by Town of Granby Court.  Mr. McLaughlin was arraigned before the Hon. Edwin Winkworth, Town of Granby Court, and released on his own recognizance.  He will return to court at a later date.   

On 2/18/12 at 2:28 p.m., Joshua A. Awilow, 27, of 18 W. 11th St., Apt. A-5, Fulton, NY, was arrested for Criminal Contempt, First Degree, a class E felony, and Harassment, Second Degree, a violation, stemming from an incident during which he allegedly violated an Order of Protection by pushing the victim named in the order down on a bed and while on top of the victim, placed his hand on the victim’s throat.  Mr. Awilow was arraigned before the Hon. Edwin Winkworth, Town of Granby Court, and remanded to the Oswego County Correctional Facility in lieu of $1,000 cash bail or bond.  He is scheduled to return to court on 3/05/12.

Komrowski, 45, of 16 Colosimo Drive, Fulton, NY, was operating a 2009 Ford northbound on CR 6 in the Town of Volney when she reportedly lost control at the intersection of Maple Avenue.  The car went off the road and struck an earth embankment before overturning.  Jennifer Komrowski, 18, a passenger, was transported by ambulance to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse.  Slippery pavement appears to have been a contributing factor with road conditions reported to be covered in snow and ice at the time. 

On 2/19/12 at 1:30 a.m., Jon R. Conners, Jr., 33, of 1122 N. State St., Syracuse, NY, was arrested based on a Family Court Warrant.  Mr. Conners was arraigned before the Hon. Donald E. Todd and remanded to the Oswego County Correctional Facility in lieu of $1,000 cash bail or $2,000 bail bond.  He is scheduled to return to Oswego County Family Court on 2/21/12. 

On 2/20/12 at 12:12 a.m., Lance E. Homer, 25, of 618 Academy St., Fulton, NY, was taken into custody based on a bench warrant issued by Town of Granby Court charging him with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation, Third Degree.  Mr. Homer was arraigned before the Hon. Bruce Wells, Town of Granby Court, and remanded to the Oswego County Correctional Facility in lieu of $500 cash bail or $1,000 bail bond.  He is scheduled to return to court on 2/27/12.   

On 2/20/12 at 9:01 p.m., Myranda R. Turner, 26, of 3194 CR 176, Oswego, NY, was taken into custody based on an arrest warrant issued by Town of Scriba Court, stemming from an incident that occurred on 8/22/09 when she was charged with Assault, Third Degree, a class A misdemeanor. Ms. Turner was arraigned before Town of Scriba Court and remanded to the Oswego County Correctional Facility in lieu of $1,000 cash bail or $2,000 bail bond.  She is scheduled to return to court on 2/23/12. 


FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 17, MEDIA RELEASE

On 2/16/12 at 11:07 a.m., Sarah May Hadcock, 28, of 3790 CR 4, Oswego, NY was reportedly operating a 1998 Chevrolet suburban north on CR 176, 1/10 mile north of Shortcut Rd., in the Town of Volney when the vehicle exited the west side of the roadway and hit an earth embankment before entering the woods and strike a tree where it came to rest.  Ms. Hadcock was issued a UTT for Failure to Keep Right. 

On 2/16/12 at 11:11 a.m., Billie A. VonKrusze, 38, of 47 N. Hillsboro Rd., Camden, NY was arrested at her residence based on an arrest warrant issued out of the Town of Amboy Court and a Bench Warrant issued out of the Oswego County Probation Department.  Ms. VonKrusze was arraigned in the Town of Parish Court by Hon. Judge Dayger and remanded to the OCJ in lieu of $500.00 cash or $2500.00 bond with a return to the Town of Amboy Court on 3/13/12. 


THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 16, MEDIA RELEASE

On 2/15/12 at 7:45 a.m., Raymond Dickson, 21, of 224 Oswego River Road, Phoenix, NY was arrested for Conspiracy, 5th degree, a class A misdemeanor and Grand Larceny, 3rd degree, a class D felony for his alleged participation into the theft of a Polaris four wheeler from a Town of Schroeppel residence in June 2011.  Mr. Dickson was arraigned in the Town of Schroeppel Court by Hon. Judge Brandt and ROR’d with a return to court date of 2/22/12. 

On 2/15/12 at 10:10 a.m., Jonathan C. Loomis, 20, of 20 Country Lane, Fulton, NY was arrested for AUO, 3rd degree (suspended on 12/17/10 for Failure to Answer Summons in C/O Fulton) Operating a MV w/o Inspection Certificate and Unsafe Tires following a traffic stop on Country Lane in the Town of Hannibal.  Mr. Loomis was released on an appearance ticket and UTT’s, returnable to the Town of Hannibal Court on 3/6/12. 

On 2/15/12 at 12:16 p.m., Tyler M. Purchas, 19, of 545 County Route 51A Bldg. 4, Oswego, NY was arrested for Criminal Mischief, 4th degree, a class A misdemeanor and Strangulation, 2nd degree, a class D felony following a domestic in progress incident that occurred at a residence in the Town of Oswego when he allegedly hit the victim in the head and put his hands around their neck and choked them to the point of dizziness along with breaking two wooden chairs.  Mr. Purchas was arraigned in the Town of Volney Court by Hon. Judge Kerfien and remanded to the OCJ in lieu of $2500.00 cash or $3000.00 bond with a return to the Town of Scriba Court on 2/16/12.  Also arrested during this incident was Christina M. Demmerle, 19, of the same address for Resisting Arrest, Obstruction of Governmental Administration, 2nd degree and Harassment, 2nd degree after she allegedly began yelling profanities at patrol as they were arresting Mr. Purchas.  After she was asked to go back into the house, she continued to yell profanities and then hit patrol with her purse before punching them in the mouth and then continued to kick her feet, pull her arms away and try to roll away as patrol was in the process of handcuffing her.  Ms. Demmerle was arraigned in the Town of Scriba Court by Hon. Judge Adkins and remanded to the OCJ in lieu of $250.00 cash or $500.00 bond with a return to Town of Scriba Court on 2/16/12. 

On 2/15/12 at 5:05 p.m., Charles D. Whittier, 49, of 59 Perfield Rd., Central Square, NY was arrested at his residence based on an Extradition Warrant issued out of Pinellas County, Florida.  Mr. Whittier was arraigned in the Village of Central Square Court by Hon. Judge Wildrick and remanded to the OCJ, held without bail and returnable to the V/O Central Square Court on 3/21/12. 

On 2/15/12 at 10:08 p.m., Edward S. Bennett, 27, of 1188 Albion Cross Rd., Altmar, NY was arrested for AUO, 2nd degree (the first was on 12-25-2011 for Failure to Answer Summons T/O Adams, the 2nd on 11-20-2011 for Failure to Answer Summons T/O Watertown, and the 3rd date had 3 suspensions all for the same reason and was on 10-16-2011 for Failure to Answer Summons C/O Syracuse), Operating a MV w/o Inspection Certificate and Following too Closely following a traffic stop in the Village of Altmar.  Mr. Bennett was arraigned in the T/O Albion Court by Hon. Judge Allen and remanded to the OCJ in lieu of $2500.00 cash or $5000.00 bond with a return to court date of 3/5/12. 

On 2/16/12 at 12:18 a.m., Jon L. Tamilia, 18, of 8405 Moss Oak Trail, Liverpool, NY was arrested for Unlawful Possession of Marihuana following a traffic stop on SR 481 in the Town of Volney after he was allegedly found to have a metal pipe and a glass pipe, both with burnt residue, in the glove box of the vehicle.  Mr. Tamilia was released an appearance ticket, returnable to the Town of Volney Court on 3/5/12. 

WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 15, MEDIA RELEASE


On 2/14/12 at 3:30 p.m., Angelo F. Amodei III, 41, of 224 Oswego River Rd., Phoenix, was arrested for Conspiracy, 5th degree, a class A misdemeanor and Grand Larceny, 3rd degree, a class D felony following the investigation into a larceny that occurred in the Town of Schroeppel in June 2011 and his alleged participation in the stealing of a Polaris 4 wheeler from the residence. Mr. Amodei was arraigned in the Town of Schroeppel Court by Hon. Judge Brant and ROR’d with a return to court date of 2/22/12. This case remains an open investigation. 

On 2/14/12 at 2:52 p.m., Jacob M. Murphy, 17, of 28 Rogers Rd., West Monroe, was operating a 2006 Toyota pickup north on Webb Place approaching the intersection with SR 49 in the Village of Central Square and reportedly rear ended a 2011 Buick suburban that was stopped at the intersection and being operated by Barbara R. Murphy, 63, of 10170 Black Creek Rd., Brewerton.  Mr. Murphy was issued a UTT for Following too Closely. 

TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 14, MEDIA RELEASE


On 2/9/12 at 3:45 p.m., Tiffany Joy Martin, 18, of 3228 CR 2, Pulaski, NY was traveling east on SR 104 in the Town of Scriba, approaching the intersection with CR 53 when the 1996 Plymouth she was operating reportedly rear ended a 1988 Suzuki suburban being operated by Richard M. McLaughlin, 54, of 20 Ellen St., Oswego, that was stopped in traffic to make a left hand turn into a parking lot.  Ms. Martin was issued a UTT for Following too Closely.  A passenger in her vehicle, Jenna Jo Waggoner, 17, was transported by ambulance to Oswego Hospital.   

On 2/13/12 at 10:24 a.m., Frank H. Hamilton, 32, of 337 Thompson Rd., Bldg. G3, Oswego, was arrested for Rape, 2nd degree, a class D felony and Endangering the Welfare of a Child following the investigation into an incident that occurred on or around June 15 or 16, 2011 after he allegedly engaged in sexual intercourse at a residence in the Town of Scriba, with the victim being less than fifteen years of age. Mr. Hamilton was arraigned in the Town of Scriba Court by Hon. Judge Adkins and remanded to the OCJ in lieu of $5000.00 cash or $10,000.00 bond with a return to court date of 2/16/12.  If anyone has any additional information pertaining to this case please call the Sheriff’s Office at 349-3411. 

On 2/13/12 at 9:59 p.m., Timothy E. Okun, 25, of 104 Jefferson Street, Phoenix, was arrested for Criminal Possession of Controlled Substance, 7th degree, Possession of Hypodermic Needle and Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia, 2nd degree, all class A misdemeanors following the investigation into a domestic incident at a Town of Granby residence where he was allegedly found to be in possession of heroin along with hypodermic needles and a silver spoon with residue on it.  Mr. Okun was released on appearance tickets, returnable to the Town of Granby Court on 3/5/12. 

On 2/13/12 at 6:18 p.m., Robert F. Moshier, 21, of 177 West 3rd Street, Oswego, was arrested for AUO, 3rd degree (suspended on 8/24/11 for Failure to Pay Driver Responsibility Assessment) and Not Maintaining Minimum Speed Limit following a traffic stop on CR 8 in the Town of Granby. Mr. Moshier was released on an appearance ticket, returnable to the Town of Granby Court on 2/27/12.   
On 2/13/12 at 3:37 p.m., Sandra L. Jay, 42, of West First Street South Bldg. 209, Fulton, was arrested for AUO, 2nd degree( suspended on 7/21/11 for Failure to Answer Summons in C/O Fulton, 4/29/11 for Failure to Answer Summons in T/O Volney and 4/2/11 for Failure to Answer Summons in T/O Minetto) and Driving While Using Mobile Phone following a traffic stop in the City of Fulton.  Ms. Jay was arraigned in the City of Fulton Court by Hon. Judge Ludington and ROR’d with a return to court date of 2/29/12. 

On 2/13/12 at 8:21 a.m., Nicole L. Cole, 26, of 39 Mullen Rd., Fulton, was operating a 2007 Honda west on Dutch Ridge Rd. in the Town of Scriba, 2/10 mile east of SR 481 and reportedly reacted to a snow plow traveling east, lost control of her vehicle on the slippery road surface and exited off the north side of the roadway. Ms. Cole was transported by ambulance to Oswego Hospital. 

On 2/13/12 at 11:45 a.m., C M Williamson, 27, of 18 Country Lane, Fulton, was operating a 1991 Ford southeast on Rathburn Rd. in the Town of Hannibal when the vehicle reportedly rear ended a 1998 International bus being operated by Clifford F. VanHorn, 56, of 8 Wilder Lane, Fulton, NY and registered to Golden Sun Bus Service of Oswego, NY as the vehicles reached the intersection with Wildner Rd. There were no students on the bus at that time.  Mr. Williamson was issued a UTT for Speed Not Reasonable. 

MONDAY, FEBRUARY 13, MEDIA RELEASE

On 2/09/12 at 3:30 p.m., Rodrick S. Longo, 28, of 921 CR 57, Phoenix, was charged with Reckless Driving and Speed Not Reasonable and Prudent, following a traffic stop on CR 57 in the Town of Schroeppel after Mr. Longo had been observed operating a motorcycle southbound near the Oswego River Road, popping a wheelie at a high rate of speed while several buses were in the area dropping off children.  He was then observed on the east side of the shoulder of CR 57 making a U-turn, now driving southbound, doing another wheelie.  He was then observed making another U-turn, heading northbound on CR 57, and doing yet another wheelie.  Issued tickets, Mr. Longo is scheduled to answer the charges before Town of Schroeppel Court on 2/15/12. 

On 2/10/12 at 8:05 a.m., James E. Haynes, 33, of 91 ½ E. Mohawk St., Oswego, NY, was charged with No Inspection Certificate, Operation Without Insurance, and Operation While Registration Suspended (registration suspended 2/04/12 for insurance lapse), stemming from a traffic stop initiated on SR 104 in the Town of Mexico after a License Plate Reader targeted his vehicle.  Mr. Haynes was issued tickets returnable to Town of Mexico Court on 2/21/12 and released to a third party. 

On 2/10/12 at 9:50 a.m., John P. McGillicuddy, Jr., 39, of 374 US Rt. 11, Central Square, was arrested based on a Family Court Warrant issued by the Hon. Donald Todd charging him with violating Article IV of the Family Court Act (failure to pay support).  Mr. McGillicuddy was arraigned before Judge Todd and remanded to the Oswego County Correctional Facility in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bail bond.  He is scheduled to return to court on 2/16/12. 

On 2/10/12 at 1:10 p.m., Paul J. Nickolas, 40, of 353 Woolson Road, Oswego, was arrested for Criminal Obstruction of Breathing/Blood Circulation, a class B misdemeanor, following an incident that occurred at his residence during which he allegedly kicked in the door to another resident’s bedroom  and choked the male victim.  Mr. Nickolas was released on an appearance ticket and will answer the charge before Town of Scriba Court on 2/28/12. 

On 2/10/12 at 3:50 p.m., John L. Polmanteer, 21, of 206 Land Rush Way, Baldwinsville, was arrested at the Onondaga County Public Safety Center based on a warrant issued by Town of Hastings Court charging him with Petit Larceny, a class A misdemeanor. Mr. Polmanteer was arraigned before Town of Parish Court and remanded to the Oswego County Correctional Facility in lieu of $500 cash bail or $1,000 bail bond.  He is scheduled to appear before Town of Hastings Court on 2/15/12 to answer the warrant. 

On 2/10/12 at 6:10 p.m., Thomas M. Groth, 36, of 39 Morey Rd., West Monroe, was arrested for Arson, Third Degree, a class C felony, and Criminal Mischief, Fourth Degree, a class A misdemeanor, stemming from the investigation into an incident that occurred on 12/19/11 during which he was accused of intentionally setting a Town of West Monroe residence on fire.  Mr. Groth was arraigned before Town of Constantia Court and remanded to the Oswego County Correctional Facility without bail.  He is scheduled to return to court on 4/02/12.  Assisting in the investigation were members of the NYS Police and Central Square Police Department. 

On 2/10/12 at 1:20 p.m., Jeremy J. Allen, 25, of 379 Kaine Rd., Altmar, was charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation, Third Degree (license suspended for failure to answer summons in the Town of Salina) following a suspicious person investigation on Lakeshore Road in the Town of Oswego.  Mr. Allen was issued a ticket returnable to Town of Oswego Court on 3/19/12. 

On 2/11/12, Richard B. Babcock, 38, of 2 Cedarwood Drive, Apt. D, Oswego, was operating a 2007 Chevrolet northbound on CR 176 in the Town of Scriba at 12:38 p.m., when he reportedly stopped at the stop sign at the intersection of CR 4, then proceeded to cross in front of and collided with a 1998 Chevrolet traveling westbound on CR 4 and driven by Leonard O. Gibeau, 32, of 956 Middle Road, Lot 33M, Oswego. The impact caused Mr. Babcock’s vehicle to spin around and strike a 2002 Subaru suburban driven by Kane R. Davis, 39, of 241 Paddy Lake Road, Oswego. Mr. Davis was stopped in a southbound direction at another stop sign at the intersection of Hayfly Road at the time.  Mr. Babcock, Mr. Gibeau, and a passenger in the Davis vehicle, Katelynn M. Davis, 16, were all transported by ambulance to the Oswego Hospital. Failure to yield the right of way appears to have been a contributing factor in the incident with Mr. Babcock receiving a ticket for Failed to Yield Right of Way at a Stop Sign Intersection, deputies said.

On 2/11/12 at 8:27 p.m., Lawrence E. Kurowski, 63, of 5303 SR 3, Mexico, was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated, Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, Consumption of Alcohol in a Motor Vehicle, and Failed to Stop at a Stop Sign, following a motor vehicle at the intersection of Craw Road and CR 4 in the Town of Palermo where he lost control of his Ford pickup truck causing it to go into a ditch.  Mr. Kurowski was issued tickets and is scheduled to answer the charges before Town of Palermo Court on 2/27/12. 

On 2/12/12 at 4:02 p.m., Richard W. Breitbeck, 37, of 287 Bunker Hill Road, Oswego, was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated, Driving With .08 of One Percent or More of Alcohol, Crossed Hazardous Road Markings, Failed to Keep Right, and Failed to Obey the Lawful Command of a Police Officer.  Mr. Breitbeck was arraigned before Town of Oswego Court and remanded to the Oswego County Correctional Facility in lieu of $500 cash bail or $1,000 bail bond. He is scheduled to return to court on 2;20/12.  Mr. Breitbeck was reportedly found passed out behind the wheel of his mini van, still in drive, that was stopped in the northbound lane of Thompson Road in the Town of Oswego.  After becoming responsive to Officers, Mr. Breitbeck reportedly ignored commands for him to put the vehicle in park and exit, instead pulling away in a northbound direction.  After driving a short distance with lights and sirens activated, Mr. Breitbeck was subsequently pulled over to the east side of the road and as Officers again approached, he again pulled away being followed northbound on Thompson Road.  After driving about one mile, Mr. Breitbeck reportedly pulled over again and was ordered out of the vehicle and placed under arrest.
