Raymond A. Walker, 71, Henderson Harbor

HENDERSON HARBOR, NY — Raymond A. Walker, 71, passed away suddenly Saturday, Nov. 24, in the emergency room of the Samaritan Medical Center.

Raymond was born Jan. 1, 1947, the son to Walter and Betty Vanderpoel Walker. His family moved to Spencerport, NY in 1965. He was a graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology.

He went to work for Eastman Kodak Company in 1965 and worked there until his retirement in 1999.

He traveled to Henderson, NY for weekends from 1988 until 2001 when he and his wife, Patty moved there permanently. He loved this community and served it well.

He was a member of the Henderson Republican Committee, Henderson Historical Society, Henderson Harbor Performing Arts Association and a founding member of the Henderson Men’s Club. He also served on the Henderson Zoning Board of Appeals, Henderson Town Board and was Henderson Town Supervisor for two terms.

Ray loved hunting, fishing, boating and reading.

He is survived by his wife and companion of 30 years, Patricia B. Walker, Henderson Harbor, NY and his brother, Gary Walker, Winchester, TN.

Besides his parents Walter and Betty Walker he was predeceased by his sister, Patricia Stiehler.

There will be a celebration of life at 3 pm., Dec. 2, at the Westview Lodge, Henderson Harbor. There will be no calling hours.
