WATERTOWN, NY — Samaritan Medical Center is pleased to welcome two newly recruited physicians to its Medical Staff.
Vivian Keenan, MD, specializes in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, which includes the diagnosis and treatment of diseases and conditions that affect the lungs and breathing, such as pneumonia, asthma, tuberculosis, emphysema, chronic obstructive lung disease (COPD), interstitial lung disease and complicated chest infections.
Dr. Keenan received her Medical Degree at New Jersey Medical School – University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (Rutgers), Newark, NJ. She completed her Internal Medicine residency training at Jacobi Medical Center, Bronx, NY, followed by a Pulmonary and Critical Care medicine Fellowship at NYU-Winthrop Hospital, Mineola, NY. Dr. Keenan is Board-certified with the American Board of Internal Medicine with subspecialty Board-certification in Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care Medicine.

Su Yien Zhaz, MD, specializes in Rheumatology, which includes the diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal diseases and systematic autoimmune conditions, such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid and psoriatic arthritis, lupus, vasculitis, scleroderma, gout and other conditions.
Dr. Zhaz received her Medical Degree at Universidad de Carabobo in Venezuela. She completed her Internal Medicine residency training at New York Downtown Hospital, New York, NY, followed by a Fellowship in Rheumatology at SUNY Downstate Medical Center, Brooklyn, NY. Dr. Zhaz is Board-certified with the American Board of Internal Medicine and in process for subspecialty Board-certification in Rheumatology.
Dr. Zhaz brings Rheumatology services back to the North Country after the retirement last year of Dr. Charles Wasiek, who was in practice since 1985. Dr. Zhaz’s office will initially be located at the Samaritan Family Health Center – LeRay, 26908 Independence Way, EVans Mills. She will move into her Watertown office when renovations are complete.
