WATERTOWN, NY —  The 16th Annual Spring Fling to benefit New Day Children’s Center will take place on Saturday, March 30 at 6:00 p.m. at the Elks Club #496, Bradley Street, in Watertown. Community members are invited to come enjoy live music with Ryan Grant, bid on more than 150 fantastic silent and live auction items – including New Day’s famous piggy banks –  and take a chance or two in our new wine pull, all while enjoying delicious appetizers, dessert and a cash bar! Tickets cost only $15 per person and are available by calling New Day Children’s Center at 315-788-1787.  Tickets must be purchased by March 22.

The live and silent auctions feature a variety of exciting products and services generously donated from area businesses and individuals. Items up for bid include a Willowbrook golf membership, 10-yards mulch, handmade Adirondack chair,  golf packages, a family admission to the Wild Center,  Santa’s Workshop, and other NY museums and family destinations, Snow Ridge lift tickets, Lewis County Fair Grandstand passes, handcrafted goods, locally produced foods,  restaurant, spa, fishing charter and Camp Wabasso gift certificates, Antique Boat Museum membership, and so much more!

Donations of products and services for the auction, along with corporate underwriting gifts are still being accepted by New Day.

“Spring Fling is New Day’s largest fundraiser and we are extremely grateful for the community support we receive each year.” said Karen J. Freeman, president of New Day’s Board of Directors. “People are so generous – we receive donations from local businesses, individuals and national organizations. There truly is something for everyone and every budget at our auction. You don’t necessarily have to be associated with New Day currently, but simply have an appreciation for the service New Day has provided this community for nearly four decades.”

Since 2014, Spring Fling net proceeds have averaged $11,000 annually. Proceeds from Spring Fling and New Day’s other fundraising activities have been used to purchase a variety of things including classroom furniture and equipment, renovations to several classrooms, motor skills equipment for the running room, new playground equipment, and to subsidize several field trips and classroom activities such as Kindermusik and a puppet show. Proceeds from Spring Fling 2019 will be used for classroom renovations, improvements to the library, as well as to support enrichment activities for the children.
