Steven V. Amato, 53, Theresa

THERESA, NY — Steven V. Amato, 53, of Main Street, Theresa, passed away at the Hospice Center of Jefferson County, Watertown, NY, after a short illness.

Steven was born in Watertown on July 15, 1964, the son of Louis V. and Jo Anne VanBrocklin Amato.  He graduated in 1983 from Indian River High School.

Steven worked for Coca Cola of Watertown for many years as well as a car salesman for FX Caprara and the Fuccillo Auto Mall. He also bar-tended at various establishments.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapping and was an avid New York Yankee and Dallas Cowboys fan.

Surviving are his parents, Louis and JoAnne, Theresa; his sons, Ryan (Alyssa) Ryan, Theresa, and Ronan Amato, Redwood, NY; his daughter Natalli Amato, Sackets Harbor; brother Louis (Trisha) Amato, Theresa; sisters, Kim (Rob) McGinley, Smithtown, NY, and Tara Amato (long-time companion Charles Penn), Goose Bay; two grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces ,nephews, and cousins.

A new-born daughter, Alli Elizabeth Amato, predeceased him.

Calling hours will be held 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 10, at the Costello Funeral Home, Alexandria Bay. A memorial Mass will be said 11 a.m. Friday, May 11, at St. Cyril’s Catholic Church, Alexandria Bay, with Fr. Douglas Comstock, officiating. Burial will be at Glenwood Cemetery, Watertown.
