Susan F. Ivey, 61, formerly of Clayton

CLAYTON, NY — Susan F. Ivey, 61, of Boynton Beach, FL, and formerly of Clayton, NY, passed away at Bethesda Hospital East in Florida on Monday, July 23, 2018.

Susie was born in White Plains, NY and was the daughter of Joseph and Frances (Mercatante) Perruccio. She was a 1975 graduate of Thousand Islands High School and received her Associates Degree in Computer Science from Jefferson Community College.

On Sept. 6, 1975, she married Frederick B. Ivey at St. Mary’s Church.

She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Frederick B. “Fred” Ivey; two sons, Frederick “Freddy” Ivey Jr. of Boynton Beach, FL, and Joseph Ivey and wife, Jennifer, of Mooresville, NC; two granddaughters, Lillian and Isla; mother, Frances M. Perruccio, Boynton Beach, FL; brother, Joseph A. Perruccio and husband, Glen Nail, of Crystal River, FL; sister, Judy Clark, and husband, Steven, of LaFargeville, NY; one niece, two nephews, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Perruccio.

For 13 years, Susie and Fred owned and operated Ivey’s Custom Cutting in Clayton. She then spent many years helping her parents operate The Harbor Inn restaurant in Clayton. From there she worked for the NY State Park system out of Keewaydin State Park in Alexandria Bay. She retired from the Cape Vincent Correctional Facility and moved to Florida, where she was employed as a procurement specialist at the water and utility plant in Palm Beach County.

Susie was a former communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Clayton. Her passion was her family and taking every opportunity so spend time with them, especially at holidays. She also enjoyed shopping, cooking, and baking.

Calling hours will be held 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday. Aug. 2, at Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., Clayton. A  prayer service will be 10:15 a.m. Friday, Aug. 3, at the funeral home followed by the 11 a.m. funeral Mass celebrated at St. Mary’s Church with Rev. Arthur J. LaBaff, pastor, presiding. Internment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
