Watertown man charged with strangulation following domestic incident

WATERTOWN, NYWilliam T. Burridge, 21, of 1265 Coffeen St., Apt. 7, Watertown, was charged by Watertown police at 1:13 a.m. Friday, March 8, at his residence with second-degree strangulation, a felony, second-degree unlawful imprisonment and second-degree harassment.

He is accused of placing his hand around the neck of Paige N. Burridge, 19, and applying pressure causing her to experience dizziness and a stupor at about 12:30 a.m. Friday, according to court documents. He also allegedly placed struck her in the forehead and placed her in a choke hold while preventing her from leaving a bedroom during the domestic incident, police said.

He was being held at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building pending arraignment Friday morning in City Court.
