WATERTOWN, NY — Desmond L. Bond, 28, of 112 Court St., Apt. 3A, Watertown, was charged by Watertown police at 11:15 p.m. May 2 at his residence with third-degree falsely reporting an incident, a misdemeanor.
According to court documents, “the defendant participated in sending a picture message to a third party depicting himself in a manner likely to cause the receiver of the message to believe he was deceased followed immediately by a text message that said ‘He’s gone, try to call his wife’ causing the third party to contact emergency services, resulting in the police being notified and a search for the defendant.”
He is summoned to appear May 16 in City Court.
