William F. Lalonde, 72, Clayton

CLAYTON, NY — William F. “Bill” Lalonde, 72, passed away Sunday, Feb. 24, after being stricken at his residence.

Calling hours will be held 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, March 2, at the T.R. Jetty Funeral Home in Clayton. A burial will be held at a time to be announced in the spring.

Born Feb. 23, 1947, the son of Francis and Constance Denney Lalonde, he graduated from Clayton High School.

On April 20, 1968, he married the former Mary Helen Bazinet.

Bill served in the U.S. Marine Corp from Sept. 15, 1965, until being honorable discharged Aug. 22, 1971, at the rank of sergeant.

He worked at Wayne Garage Doors in Clayton for many years.

Bill was a member of the Clayton American Legion Colon Couch Post 821.

He enjoyed a lot of things, among his favorites was bird watching.

Surviving besides his wife Mary Helen, are two sons, David (Sara) of Leesburg, VA, and Bill (Abigail) of Troy, NY; two grandchildren; two sisters, Denise (Peter) Hummer of Clayton, and Pamela (Mike) Deeb of Plattsburgh; three brothers, Richard (Joan) of Florida, Steve of Albion, NY, and David (Deanna) of Clayton; nieces and nephews.

A sister, Debbie Niles, predeceased him.
