Woman charged in Natural Bridge meth lab bust

NATURAL BRIDGE, NYLindsey L. Babcock, 33, was charged Monday, Oct. 22, by the Lewis County sheriff’s deputies with third-degree unlawfully manufacturing methamphetamine, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and endangering the welfare of a child.

The Lewis County Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at 6337 Old State Road in Natural Bridge. The search warrant was issued by Lewis County Judge Daniel R. King.

“Entry was made by the New York State Police Special Operation Team (SORT) and assisted by the State Police Contaminated Crime Scene Emergency Response Team (CCSERT) without incident. Located within the residence and the surrounding property where components to manufacture methamphetamine. Additionally, a small amount of finsihed methamphetamine was located in the kitchen.”

“It should be noted that this has been an ongoing investigation by the Lewis County Drug Task Force and the State Police Community Narcotics Enforcement Team (CNET) which has resulted in this third search warrant of the same residence related to the illegal manufacturing of methamphetamine.”

Babock was out on bond for charges stemming from the first two investigations and arrests by CNET, police said.

Assisting at the scene were the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office K9 unit and Lewis County Probation.

Ms. Babcock was arraigned in Lowville Town Court and sent to the Lewis County Jail with bail set at $15,000 cash or $30,000 bond.
