$1.35 MILLION in cash seized from Dexter man’s home during drug raid, police say

WATERTOWN, NY —  The Metro-Jeff Drug Task Force released the following statement on Thursday, Jan. 21:

“On 01/20/21, a search warrant was executed at 25871 County Route 59 in the Town of Brownville. This was a result of a several month long investigation involving the Metro-Jeff Drug Task Force and the Department of Homeland Security.

This address is the residence of Jerry A. Segouin (age 46).

At the conclusion of the search approximately 288 pounds of marihuana, a 12 gauge shotgun, a .22 caliber rifle, and approximately $1.35 million dollars in US currency were seized. Mr. Segouin was arrested and charged with one count of Criminal Possession of Marihuana in the 1st degree (class C felony).

He was arraigned in Jefferson County Court on 01/21/21 and was held on $50,000.00 cash bail.

The Metro-Jeff Drug Task Force and the Department of Homeland Security were assisted in this investigation by the St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office, the St. Lawrence County Drug Task Force, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, the City of Watertown Police Department, and the NYS Police.

Currently this is an on-going investigation.

Additional charges and arrests are pending.”
