2 McDonald’s restaurants in Watertown to hold fundraiser for Bodah family

WATERTOWN, NY – Two local McDonald’s Restaurant are stepping forward to assist the family of 5 people who perished in a fire on Valentine’s Day.

On Saturday, February 23 from 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. the restaurants, located at 924 Arsenal Street and 1809 State Street, will donate $1.00 from the sale of every Shamrock Shake to the Bodah Family Memorial Fund, and the Melissa Davey and Hailey Bodah Fund, both c/o Watertown Savings Bank, 111 Clinton St., Watertown, NY 13601.

Restaurant owner Mike McLaughlin and his employees hope to show that this is one more way to let the family know that the community is here to help.

“We, like the rest of our neighbors and friends, are heartbroken by this unspeakable tragedy and wish to do our part to help the family through this tragic time,” states McLaughlin. “Melissa is a former employee and we want her and Hailey to know that we care for members of our McDonald’s family.”

The restaurants will also be collecting gift cards and monetary donations during the event.
