2 men arrested after disturbance outside tavern on Public Square, police say

WATERTOWN, NYCory M. Dodds II, 21, of 16320 Golden Dr., Evans Mills, was charged by Watertown police at 2:01 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 8, at 86 Public Square with disorderly conduct.

Mr. Dodds is accused of ignoring numerous police orders to leave the area and continue to yell at other people in front of Whistler’s Tavern, according to court documents.

Johnathon M.C. Stafford, 23, of 10136 4th Armored Div. Dr., Apt. 320, Fort Drum, was charged by Watertown police at 2:04 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 8, at 86 Public Square with resisting arrest.

Mr. Stafford is accused of attempting to prevent a police sergeant from making an arrest when he grabbed Mr. Dodds by his arm and pulled him away from police, according to court documents.

Both men are summoned to appear Sept. 18 in City Court.
