WATERTOWN, NY — The 21st annual Good Friday Cross Walk in Watertown will be held Friday, April 19.
This ecumenical walk will take place beginning and ending at St. Patrick’s Church on the corner of Massey and Arsenal Street with a departure time of 8:55 a.m. Gathering begins at 8:30 a.m. in the parking lot adjacent to the church.
The walkers will make their way on a route that will take them through downtown Watertown and back around again to where they began.
Participants will take turns bearing the cross as it is carried from station to station where local clergy and laity will read scripture and offer prayer at each stop. We walk Snow, Rain or Shine!
All are welcome to join this Walk of Faith which follows the stations of the Cross on a 2 mile route through the heart of town. The walk is approximately two hours long with 14 stops, each with scripture, prayer and an occasional Hymn led by local clergy and laity of many Christian denominations.
Participants returning year after year tell us that is time well spent; remembering, caring for one another and experiencing in a very small way, the walk of Jesus Christ to His death for our salvation and eternal life.
The Good Friday Cross Walk is open to the public and the only cost is your time.
