Texting motorist caused accident that killed former Assemblywoman Chloe Ann O’Neil, troopers say

RAY BROOK, NY — On Dec. 13, 2018, State Police arrested Angel L. Oliver, 29, Bombay for the death of a 75-year-old Parishville woman that occurred on Nov. 15, 2018, in the town of Dickinson.

The arrest stems from a two-car motor vehicle collision that occurred on Nov. 15, 2018, in the town of Dickinson.

An investigation revealed that while Oliver was operating a vehicle on County Route 5, she was engaged in a cell phone text conversation and failed to observe a stop sign at the intersection with State Route 11B, troopers said.

Oliver’s distracted operation resulted in her striking a vehicle being operated by Chloe Ann R. O’Neil and this collision resulted in O’Neil’s death, troopers said.

Oliver was charged with Criminally Negligent Homicide, a class E felony.

She was arraigned in the Malone Town Court where she was released under pretrial release program through Franklin County Probation.

Oliver is scheduled to reappear 7 p.m. Dec. 19 in the Dickinson Town Court.
