THERESA, NY —Â State Police in Philadelphia is investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that occurred on County Route 22 in the town of Theresa, Jefferson County.
On August 1, 2022, at 3:19 p.m., Troopers responded to the area of 31519 County Rt. 22 for a reported motorcycle off the roadway and down an embankment. The preliminary investigation has determined the operator, 55-year-old Brett A. Vansant, from Macomb, NY, was traveling north on County Route 22 when he failed to negotiate a left turn in the roadway. The motorcycle subsequently traveled off the east shoulder of the roadway and down an embankment causing Mr. Vansant to be ejected. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The investigation is continuing.
