WATERTOWN, NY — State Police arrested William L. Beyette, 76, of 17791 State Route 12E, Dexter, NY, for promoting a sexual performance by a child, a class “D” felony.
Mr. Beyette is accused of downloading images of minors between the ages of 11 and 14 engaging in sexual acts with an adult, consistent with child pornography, troopers said.
He was arraigned in LeRay Town Court and released on his own recognizance.
Beyette is scheduled to appear 6:30 p.m. Aug. 1 in Brownville Town Court.
The New York State Police Troop D – Computer Crime Unit assisted in the investigation.
