The District is working in collaboration with the New York State Department of Public Health, Â If you are contacted by Public Health, please follow its recommendations. The District also continues to follow policies and procedures/protocols to ensure the health and safety of the students and employees.
If a student is symptomatic (fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea), he/she is required to have an evaluation by a healthcare provider or a negative COVID-19 test in order to return to school. If the health care provider is able to provide an alternate diagnosis/a note detailing a chronic condition (with the chronic condition’s symptoms listed), the student may return to school. If not, the student will need a negative COVID test.
Please also direct all calls/questions regarding isolation times/dates to the Jefferson County Department of Public Health – 315-786-3720. The school clinics are not setting these dates and do not have specific information regarding the rationale for the dates, etc.
We appreciate your continued support and understanding. We will continue to work together to ensure the safety of our students and staff.
Just a reminder there is no school on Monday due to the federal holiday in remembrance of Martin Luther King Jr.  There is a wind chill warning and a winter storm watch this weekend into Monday. It’s a good weekend for staying inside and enjoying family time!
Stay safe and warm!
