ADAMS, NY — Joseph D. Crossman, 44, of 13188 US Route 11, town of Adams, was charged by Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies at 7:56 p.m. Sunday, June 28, with two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a class D felony, a single count of second-degree menacing, a class A misdemeanor, five counts of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon – ammo clip, a class D felony, and a single count of unlawful purchase of body armor, a class A misdemeanor.
Crossman is accused of possessing a handgun which he used to menace a woman at about 5:29 p.m. Sunday at Spook Hill Bar and Grill, 12139 US Route 11, town of Adams, according to court documents. Crossman was previously convicted of a crime, deputies wrote.
Deputies said metal knuckles, body armor and five high capacity magazines were located at his residential property while conducting a search at 8 a.m. Monday in accordance with a temporary extreme risk order of protection.
Bail was set at $10,000 cash or $20,000 bond.
Crossman was released Monday afternoon from the Jefferson County Jail after posting bail.
