LOWVILLE, NY – Albert L. Larkins, 79, of State Route 177, Lowville, passed away on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at his home, under the loving care of his family and Lewis County Hospice.
Born Aug. 20, 1938, in Martinsburg, a son of the late Olin I. and Florence M. Cody Larkins, he atteneded country school on Route 177 and Lowville Academy.
On March 21, 1986, he married Leona E. LaVancha in Lowville, NY.
He loved to farm, and worked on area farms before purchasing his own farm. He worked in farming for over 45 years, until his illness.
A calling hour will be held 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday, May 17, at Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc., Lowville. The funeral service will follow at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Rev. Bruce W. Chapman officiating. Burial will be in Lowville Rural Cemetery.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 32 years, Leona; 4 children, Doug (Danielle) Larkins of Lowville, John Larkins of Lowville, Dorothy Larkins of Lowville, and Richard Larkins of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; 3 sisters and 1 brother, Beatrice Bambaco of MA. Frances Briggs of Utica, Raymond (Elizabeth) Larkins of Lowville, Bertha Turner of LaFargville; 10 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren and 1 on the way; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is predeceased by 6 siblings, Robert Larkins, Amasa Larkins, Ardeth VanNest, Franklin Larkins, Ann LaBrake, Pasty LaVancha.
