Alleged Watertown shoplifter accused of ripping police officer’s uniform

WATERTOWN, NY —  Ashley R. Anthony, 38, of 206 Franklin St., Apt. 111, Watertown, was charged by Watertown police at 2:20 p.m. May 31 at 146 Arsenal St. with petit larceny and fourth-degree criminal mischief.

Ms. Anthony is accused of placing two bags of Tyson’s Chicken valued at $7.50 each and two packages of Knorr’s Pasta Sides valued at $1.25 each in her bag and exited Family Dollar, 146 Arsenal St., without attempting to pay at about 2:08 p.m. May 31, police said.

She is additionally accused of ripping the front right pocket on a police officer’s uniform, according to court documents.

She is summoned to appear July 31 in City Court.
