American Red Cross aids eight after Ogdensburg fire

WATERTOWN, NY –Volunteers from the North Country Chapter of the American Red Cross provided immediate assistance to eight people after a fire Monday afternoon, April 23, 2018, on Irvin Street in Ogdensburg, St. Lawrence County.

The Red Cross provided financial assistance for necessities such as shelter, food and clothing to five adults and three children, ages 1, 14 and 15. Volunteers also provided health services, comfort kits containing personal care items and stuffed animals for the children.

In the coming days, Red Cross staff and volunteers will remain available to help those affected by the fire as they navigate the road to recovery.
