American Red Cross assisting Lowville family after fire

LOWVILLE, NY  – Volunteers from the North Country Chapter of the American Red Cross provided immediate emergency aid to a family of six people after an early morning fire Sunday on South State Street in Lowville, Lewis County.

The Red Cross is providing financial assistance for necessities such as shelter, food and clothing) to the family of four adults and two children, ages 3 and 4.

Volunteers also offered health services, emotional support and comfort kits containing personal care items and stuffed animals for the children.

One member of the family is eligible for Veterans’ services.

In the coming days, Red Cross staff and volunteers will remain available to help those affected by the fire as they navigate the road to recovery.
