WATERTOWN, NY — Amy C. O’Connor, 66, passed away at her home in Watertown Tuesday afternoon, Dec. 19, 2023, under the care of her devoted husband.
Amy was born March 22, 1957, in Watertown, a daughter of Archie V. and Roseanne (Slack) Laverty. She was a 1975 graduate of Immaculate Heart Central School and had attended JCC.
She married William R. O’Connor on June 16, 1978, at Holy Family Church with Revs. Ray Wertman and Jack Smiley officiating.
Amy was a fundraiser for DPAO from 1988 to 2003.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church.
Along with her husband, Bill, Amy is survived by her mother, Roseanne Laverty, Watertown; a sister, Melinda A. McNamara and husband Patrick M., Ogdensburg; sister-in-law, Nancy M. Laverty, Watertown; several nieces and nephews and their families, including her very special great niece, Annie Endres; and several cousins.
She was predeceased by her father Archie, April 4, 2016; daughter, Christina L. O’Connor, March 1, 2011; two brothers, Kevin M. Laverty, Jan. 18, 1996, and Stephen D. Laverty, Sept. 25, 2021; sister and her husband, Carrie R. Endres, September 13, 1998 and Robert J. “Little B” Endres, Dec. 5, 2011.
Calling hours will be held 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 29, at Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., Watertown. A graveside service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 30, in Black River Cemetery followed by her funeral service at First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Dr. Andrew Long presiding at 11 AM.
