Amy L. Huff, 75, Champion

CHAMPION – Amy L. Huff, 75, of 24005 Pennock Road, Champion passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, March 22, 2020, at her home, under the loving care of her family, friends and Jefferson County Hospice.

Born Jan. 6, 1945, in Harrisville, NY, a daughter of the late Avery and Catherine (Breighton) Ford, she graduated from Harrisville Central School.

On May 27, 1972, she married Carlton N. Huff in Carthage.

Amy worked at General Electric in Syracuse for a time.

Later, she was employed as a nurse’s aide for the Madonna Home of Watertown as well as a daycare provider out of her home.

Amy loved gardening, reading, sewing, knitting and crafting.

She also enjoyed travel and was a member of the Red Hats, AARP and St. James Catholic Church in Carthage.

Survivors include four children, Karen and Mike Stofka, Watertown, Laurile and Rodney “Pug” Higgins, Carthage, Sean and Barb Huff, Carthage, and Rosemary and David Wilder of Carthage; three brothers, Jack and Rose Ford, Fine, Robert Ford, Harrisville, and Harold and Sue Ford, Pennsylvania; 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, Carlton who died on November 6, 2001; her parents and stepfather, Herbert Kampnich; a brother, Rodney Ford; and her fiancé and companion, John Sullivan.

No public services will be held at this time.

Burial will be in the spring at Hillside Cemetery in Champion and a Celebration of Life gathering will be held in the summer.
