Ash Wednesday services in north country

WATERTOWN, NY — Ashes will be distributed at the 7:00 a.m. Mass at St. Anthony’s Wednesday, March 6. Ashes will be distributed at the noon and 5:15 p.m. Masses at St. Patrick’s the same day. Wednesday is the beginning of the Christian observance of Lent. Catholics are marked with ashes to renew the promises made at their baptism, when they died to an old life and rose to a new life with Christ.

WATERTOWN, NY — Stone Presbyterian Church is hosting a “drop in” worship service on Wednesday, March 6, 2019. All are welcomed to come any time between 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. A bulletin will be provided to guide you through an Ash Wednesday worship experience. It is meant to be contemplative with soft music playing. The bulletin will  include silently prayers to be read silently, scripture readings with guided questions to ponder, a poem, imposition of the ashes by Rev. Moses and communion served by an Elder. You are welcomed to stay for as long or short as you are spiritually moved. If you have any questions please contact Rev. WATERTOWN, NY — Emmanuel Congregational Church, 119 S. Hamilton Street, Watertown. 7:00 pm. There will be a quiet, intimate Ash Wednesday service with communion and the imposition of ashes. Gentle hymns and moments of silence will give to the celebrants a place and sense of reverent reflection and consolation on this beginning of the Lenten season. All are welcome and accepted, communion and the blessing of the ash and oil are given to all who seek them.
