Auburn man killed after being struck by vehicles in Montezuma

AUBURN, NY —  On February 9, 2021, at approximately 9:45 pm, the New York State Police were dispatched by Cayuga County 911 to a fatal motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian being struck along State Route 31 in the town of Montezuma.

The preliminary investigation has determined that a vehicle travelling westbound on State Route 31 between Mentz Church Road and Old State Route 31 stuck the pedestrian who appeared to be lying in the west bound lane. The victim has been identified as Donald Condes, age 52, of Auburn, NY who was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Two additional vehicles that were traveling westbound also struck the victim. At this time the State Police are currently looking for information on an unknown colored SUV that was travelling westbound and may have been involved in the accident.
