ADAMS, NY — Barbara Mary Mugglin Whitmore, 83, Adams, passed away Sunday, Sept. 1, 2019, at her home while under the care of her family and Hospice of Jefferson County.
A private graveside service will be held Friday, Sept. 6, in Sulpher Springs Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, at the Adams Center Baptist Church.
She was born in Sidney, NY a daughter to Ernest Daniel and Edna Luella Truscott Mugglin.
Barbara was a wife of a longtime farmer to Howard Calvin Whitmore commonly known as H. Calvin Whitmore in Jefferson County while raising their 8 children. She was very active in her church and had a strong faith in Jesus Christ.
She is survived by her eight children, Charolette and Robert Abrams, Alexander Arkansas; Daniel and Roxanne Whitmore, Redfield, NY; Joanne and Robert Sonricker, Attica, NY; Jane and Lyle Roach, Watertown, NY; Thomas and Susan Whitmore, Watertown, NY; Mary and Steven Dumas, Salisbury, NC; Grant Whitmore, Alexander, NY and Linda and Frederic Damon, Adams Center, NY., 23 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and 1 great- great-grandchild.
Besides her parents Barbara was predeceased by her husband, Howard Calvin Whitmore commonly known as H. Calvin Whitmore and daughter-in-law Catherine Whitmore.
