Betsy Lynn Shinnick, 57, Lowville

LOWVILLE, NY – Betsy Lynn (Ashcraft) Shinnick, 57, of Lowville, passed away Friday evening, May 24, 2019, at Lewis County General Hospital.

A funeral service will be held 7 p.m. Friday, May 31, 2019, at Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc., 5702 Waters Road, Lowville. A calling hour will be held 6 to 7 p.m. prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.

Born Oct. 22, 1961, in Carthage, a daughter of the late George and Dora (Mono) Ashcraft, she graduated from Carthage Central school.

Betsy worked very hard for many years in the food industry. She was a masterful baker whose cake and cookies and pies were the delight of family and friends and all who knew her.

Her greatest thrill in life was time spent with her children and her grandchildren, all whom loved her without condition.

She is survived by two sons Thomas Shinnick Jr. and (Melissa Hirschey), Joseph Shinnick, both of Lowville; four sisters, Carol (Pat) Messore of Hannibal, Dora Ashcraft Malson of Carthage, Linda and (David) Mulrooney, Syracuse, Roni Sue (Walied) Koudi, San Diego, CA; six brothers, Bruce and (Carol Moseley) Ashcraft, Balck River, Stanley (Maureen Britton) Ashcraft Parrish, FL., George and (Diana Harper) Ashcraft, Watertown, Dennis (Leslie Green) Ashcraft of Fulton, John and
(Sue Hadley) Ashcraft of Great Bend, Arthur Ashcraft of Spring Hill, FL; seven grandchildren, Justyce, Rylee, Wyllow, Keerie, Zoe, Brooklynn, and Major; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her parents and a grandson Joseph Shinnick, Jr.; and two sisters, Keitha Tanner and Sandra Ashcraft.
