WATERTOWN, NY — Betty J. O’Connor, 68, of 25660 Branche Road, Watertown passed away peacefully Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2019, at the Hospice residence, Gotham Street, Watertown.
The funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, at the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home, Watertown. Calling hours will be held prior to the service from noon to 2 p.m.
Private family burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery.
Born March 2, 1951, in Watertown, the daughter of John C. Trickey and Priscilla Riley Trickey, she graduated in 1969 from Watertown High School.
“Mrs. O” as she was known to many worked at Mercy of Northern New York for 31 years as a CNA. She was dedicated and compassionate, often taking residents shopping, out to dinner and even to her home on the holidays.
Betty married Ronnie L. O’Connor on Jan. 13, 1974, (which was also Ronnie’s birthday), at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church with the Rev. Williams officiating.
Betty leaves behind a warm and loving family, her husband of 45 years happy years, a son John C. (Michael) O’Connor , his wife Amber and their children, Alivia and Anden, Dexter; a daughter, Andrea Michelle O’Connor and her fiancé, James Miller, Watertown; Aaron Marie O’Connor, her son Gaige and daughter Akiyah, Watertown; a brother Kevin, Ohio; as well nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends
A brother John R. Trickey (1990); her father John C. Trickey (2011); her mother Priscilla Trickey (2016) and her sister Carol (2015), predeceased her respectively.
Betty enjoyed camping in her younger years, hosting may get-togethers and especially spending time with her grandchildren.
